NBC’s America’s Got Talent (6.5 mil/0.6) added eyeballs with its own finale, easily leading Wednesday in total viewers. Opening the night for a change, Password with its revival finale (4.2/0.4) rose to its third-best audience but dipped in the demo.
The CW’s Stargirl (514K/0.1) — which featured one of the series’ best fight sequences — rose in audience to hit an early-season high.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. Big Brother is not associated or affiliated with the Estate of George Orwell and is not based on the novel “1984.”
So both Stargirl and Password rose in viewers. I guess the lesson TV needs more Joel McHale. He can even compete with himself.
“best fight sequences”
:
We have a cleanup in aisle 3, and aisle 4, and aisle 5!!
I wasn’t sure about the murder mystery that this season of “Stargirl” had, but it’s gotten more interesting. Glad that the show is doing so well.
Part of the interest for me is the storyline is subtly shifting sympathies from the Justice Society kids and Sylvester to the possibly wrongly accused girl and her parents. Who knows who killed the poor Gambler?
Love Stargirl
Password is definitely getting renewed.
If password gets renewed don’t bring back Jimmy. He is annoying and overreacts.
I get Stargirl is not a meta-show about superpowered heroes and villains living in the “real” world but are there no consequences for Sylvester/Starman’s insane rampage this week? He confronts a couple shopping in a supermarket, demands they confess to a crime at the barrel of a gun/energy staff and tries to MURDER them when they don’t obey him. And all that happens to Sylvester afterwards is he receives a stern lecture from Pat “I’m not a sidekick, I’m a doormat” Dugan that he has to do better for…Courtney?! What about not endangering the lives of terrified grocery shoppers who fled for their lives during Sylvester’s unhinged assault?
Good points… In any sci-fi show a certain suspension of belief is necessary for the show to succeed. However as you point out this episode had a truly over-the-top fight scene that was probably added to get buzz and was not only unbelievable but unnecessary as well. Bad decision, writers!
I assume the writers are setting up Sylvester to fully break bad but I wish they’d lay the groundwork by having the other characters show SOME concern. Right now, they come across as oblivious and idiotic.
