The Sex Lives of College Girls Renewed for Season 2 at HBO Max
The Sex Lives of College Girls will remain active, now that HBO Max has renewed the comedy for Season 2, it was announced on Tuesday.
Touted by the streamer as “the biggest Max Original comedy launch on the platform this year” and reportedly hitting “new platform highs each week,” the 10-episode series wraps its freshman season this Thursday, Dec. 9, with the final two episodes.
The Sex Lives of College Girls follows four college roommates (played by Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Reneé Rapp and Alyah Chanelle Scott) as they arrive at New England’s prestigious Essex College. “A bundle of contradictions and hormones, these girls are equal parts lovable and infuriating as they live out their new, free lives on campus,” says the synopsis. The cast also includes Midori Francis, Gavin Leatherwood, Chris Meyer, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Lauren Spencer and Renika Williams.
TVLine readers gave last month’s series premiere an average grade of “B+.”
“Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble have created and written a show that is full of heart, female friendships, and awkward naked parties,” HBO Max original content chief Sarah Aubrey said in a statement. “We are delighted that this comic, honest portrayal of the college condition has resonated for everyone, whether they had sex in college or not. We can’t wait to see where these uniquely complex yet relatable characters will go next.”

I love this show! Great news. HBOMax is overtaking Disney+ and Prime Video as a streaming service for me. It doesn’t have Netflix sheer volume and variety, but there’s always something wonderful to watch. Specially comedies.
They just need new content feels like I’m watching same old cable tv for price I’m paying the need to be on Netflix level

Yay! I love Mindy Kaling and her writing so I figured I would like it, but I really love the show.
So excited for this! I’ve been seriously impressed with how good this show is. Best Mindy Kaling show thus far with some fairly good diversity.

Yessss. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 So glad there will be a season 2. Season 1 hasn’t ended yet and I can’t get enough.
It has the potential to be a long running series. I love the show and I hope it gets a multi year renewal next. Real life issues, diverse characters, excellent acting, biting comedy and obviously those producer/ writers “tho” ;) I don’t want it to end. I have the last two episodes available to watch tomorrow. I hope the production resumes fast and it’s back for 2022, the earlier the better!!
