The official poster for The Resident‘s fourth season is more than just an ad for the drama’s new episodes: It’s also an excellent tutorial on proper face mask etiquette. (Mouths and noses covered, Fox viewers!)
TVLine has an exclusive look at the key art, which features a tagline that teases the show’s upcoming coronavirus plot: “Every crisis has a front line.” As co-creator Amy Holden Jones shared in July, the ongoing pandemic will play out on The Resident‘s Season 4 premiere as it addresses “the early days of the outbreak, focusing on the effect on our hero doctors and nurses as they risk their lives daily.”
“Long-term, sadly, the after-effects of COVID-19 will go on, even after we have a vaccine, and we’ll be there to show that, as well,” Jones added.
The medical drama will also welcome at least one new face in Season 4: How to Get Away With Murder‘s Conrad Ricamora will recur as Jake Wong, a gay plastic surgeon who is also Dr. Bell’s former stepson from a previous marriage.

This is such an ugly poster. If they wanted to give the effect of mask-wearing without covering the actors’ faces, they should have just had them holding masks. Or just not bothered with it. But this looks like a tacky accident.
I think The Resident is the best TV show on TV, and I cant wait for my favorite show to air.

This is my all time favorite show. I am a retired ER nurse and this show plays it just as it is in a real ER. There’s drama, sadness, happiness, and happiness yes romance between the medical staff. I wish it was on every night. The actors are point on. The technology was they use in the show is real. Please keep the excitement coming

I want to be entertained by television dramas, and the topics/plots that are focusing on Covid, BLM, social injustice, and women’s rights is not entertainment to the millions who have been inundated with very little escapism this last year. I no longer watch This Is Us, The Doctor, and sadly will remove The Resident from my DVR.
For entertainment & humor .. escapism … try saturday night live,, anyone of the numerous 30 minute t.v. offerings .. or cartoons & old comedies (movies/ television.)
It is health producing to laugh.
No need to suffer thru shows that are a downer for you .. move on . Be happy !

I totally agree with you! I watched Station 19 and Greys Anatomy last night and was so disappointed!! Both were all about Covid virus!!! I’m going back to my black and white tv shows! No covid virus there.
Try Transplant. And New Amsterdam. They’re great too.

I was so excited to learn that the Resident is coming back on, however, the year 2020 has been a terrible year with the covid virus and it saddens me to have to watch more of it on my favorite show. I wanted to see something new and refreshing.

The blue of the poster also maybe symbolizes the “rising waters” feel of the early pandemic and that the medical staff may feel like they’re drowning at times.

Well you just lost this viewer!! We live this Covid virus nightmare every single day!! Why on earth do you think we want to watch it on TV? We want to get away from reality for awhile but you guys have to shove it in our faces!!! I’m done!!!

I have loved the Resident from beginning. As a nurse, I relate to this and the characters are splendid. Not an episode has disappointed me. Tip my hat to all of this wonderful cast! Awaiting new season.
I LOVE the resident it is one of my favorite shows! Can’t wait for the new season… but did anyone notice that Devon is not very well shown in the poster…does this mean he won’t be in the show as much because I love his character?!?!
