The first trailer for The Marvels — which among other things is very much a sequel to Disney+’s Ms. Marvel — made its debut on Tuesday morning (during ABC’s Good Morning America).
Originally earmarked for a July 2022 release, The Marvels was postponed four times and is now due to hit theaters Nov. 10.
Directed by Candyman‘s Nia DaCosta from a screenplay by Megan McDonnell, the superhero team-up film stars Brie Larson (returning to the role of Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers), Teyonah Parris (who was first introduced as an adult Monica Rambeau in TV’s WandaVision) and Iman Vellani (who last summer headlined TV’s Ms. Marvel, as newbie superhero Kamala Khan).
Both Larson and Vellani were last seen in the Ms. Marvel finale’s post-credits scene, where Carol Danvers and Kamala unwittingly swapped places with one another. Parris’ Monica, meanwhile, was last seen in one of the WandaVision finale’s bonus scenes, where a SWORD agent revealed herself to be a shapeshifting Skrull sent by “a friend of your mother’s,” meaning Nick Fury. “He heard you’d been grounded,” the Skrull told Monica, “and would like to meet you” — up in space.
On the casting front, Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his MCU role as Nick Fury; Kamala’s family will again played by Ms. Marvel‘s Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur; and brand-new additions include Korean actor Park Seo-joon (Itaewon Class) and British actress Zawe Ashton (Velvet Buzzsaw), reportedly as a prince and as the film’s villain.
The Marvels is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5, which kicked off with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and next will serve up Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (in theaters May 5) and Disney+’s Secret Invasion (streaming June 21).

Two words: Holy hell!!!! This looks fabulous. I cannot wait for November!!!!
Looks good and Ms. Marvel was a seriously underrated series. I know it was just to set this movie up but I wish it was getting more seasons.
I loved Ms. Marvel!
Captian Marvel…..
You realize Grace M, that Rhonwyn was talking about the Ms Marvel series, NOT the Captain Marvel movie, right?
You seem to have issues with Ms. Marvel, why is that? Others, as well as myself, liked it.
Honestly was not a fan of the Ms. Marvel movie at all. And I have not really enjoyed what they have done with Ms Marvel so far (made her way to powerful in my opinion)
But this trailer did its job. Was not very interested in this movie and now I am.
Hope they pull it off and it’s a good one.
Captain Marvel…..
I believe that Kevin meant series not movie, but I could be wrong
It had straight to Disney+ vibes. I don’t know if was a Ms. Marvel/Kamala (which I loved in her series) issue and/or just the tone of this teaser trailer. Hopefully, the next trailer will be better.
LOL.
.
Yet another space film where someone is flung away from something and eventually just slow down and gently tap into something else.
.
Yes, I know. Movie.
suggestion – don’t waste anymore time on this movie (watching future trailers or the movie itself)
safe assumption you’re going to be disappointed
as well anything related to the MCU or even just fun action or sci fi movies intended for pop culture fans, younger fans, etc is likely not your flavor or may be just beneath your intelligence
best to stick to things you enjoy whatever that is
p.s. – not telling you what to do or watch, etc
just suggestions … and also typically when someone posts a comment like yours it’s presumably just to rile people up
vs … just moving on … clearly you’ve seen too many films like this to say: yet another space film —
presumably this is for people who haven’t seen everything
and/ or just don’t take things as seriously as you do
you must be a blast at parties. Your post is completely pointless
So excited for this!!
I can’t believe they are sidelining Captain Marvel in her own movie. Her sidekicks got more time in the trailer.
They seem to be assuming that everyone watched the Ms. Marvel disney plus series. I did actually watch it but I didn’t like it. I don’t need a movie to continue that story.
easy solution – don’t watch it
also if it’s called The Marvels – meaning all three of them
may be it’s being made as a sequel to Ms. Marvel just as much as a sequel to Captain Marvel
can kind of go both ways – each has their own story to explore and expand or in this case .. connect together
as well as Monica’s story
1. As already mentioned, it’s not just Captain Marvel’s movie. 2. The other two Marvels are not Captain Marvel’s sidekicks. 3. It’s probably not necessary to have watched either “WandaVision” or “Ms. Marvel” to understand what’s going on in “The Marvels”. Although, regarding that last point, most movies have to exist under the production-side assumption that there are baselines of prior understanding or experience, below which particular audience members may be unable to connect with the movie, and below which the movie is not going to attempt to help those audience members compensate.
looks like a lot of fun. Good trailer and has me interested.
Captain Marvel was good but not one of my favorite MCU movies overall. Glad the alien cat 🐈 is back… he cracks me up. I enjoyed the Ms. Marvel Disney+ series. It was well cast. But not sure her new suit is flattering. I may wait for it to it Disney+ but I definitely plan to see it.
I’m sorry but WHAT are these costumes??? 🤢
I predict I’ll see it multiple times in-theater, on Disney+, buy the DVD, etc. I’m a fan, in other words.
Does Disney even make Star Wars content with actual male leads anymore? Everytime I watch a new trailer it’s all female leads unless it’s a villain or the movies/shows that are supposed to be about a male lead put the character on the back burner for a female character.
What? Women can’t be leads? Just because it’s been lead by men for the last … oh … 100 years? Women can be leads, and in this case the comic book creators have been ahead of the movies. THEY put women in the lead. It’s just now that Hollywood is realizing that women like movies too – and not just RomComs. We like action movies. And SciFi. Here’s news for you – WOMEN ARE NERDS TOO!
This is Marvel…
But either way your point is still dumb
every time ? really ?
so in the past 3 years … how many star wars trailers have you seen that had female leads ?
Madalorian … male lead & a little green dude
book of Bobba Fett – Male lead and female sidekick
Obi-Wan – Male lead and female child co-lead
Andor – Male lead
and …… I think 2 animated shows ? …. which have male & female co-leads
so besides the last 3 movies which had both 1 female & 3 male co-leads (and a 2nd female supporting lead) …
what exactly are you talking about ?
oh and Han Solo — male lead and huge dude in fur
typo: Mandolorian
GOOSE!!!!! I’ve missed him!
Looks fun. Definitely will see it.
I guess Fury turns out all right after Secret Invasion.
Also, was that a group flerkens I saw?
no – 3 or more Flerkens are called a Gargle of Flerkens
I found both the Captain Marvel movie and Ms. Marvel series to be just ok, but this looks like a lot of fun.
confusing trailer. i’m not moved.
1 – what’s confusing about it ?
2 – it’s supposed to be some kind of mystery for the story and how/ why they’re all 3 suddenly switching places across the universe
3 – would you prefer the trailer spell everything out and take away any surprises ?
In just a minute this trailer showed more ‘heart’ than all of Shazam Fury…did in the whole movie…
It’s no wonder that Marvel has the reputation for producing better (mostly) movies
