It appears that if The Flash wants his dad to drop by Central City, all he has to do is lose feeling in his legs. (Harsh trade-off!)
Henry Allen returns in Tuesday’s episode (The CW, 8/7c) after mysteriously and abruptly leaving town in the season premiere, and his arrival couldn’t come at a better time, seeing as how poor Barry just suffered a major blow at Zoom’s hands, which has left him in a wheelchair. Hey, maybe pops will even offer up some answers about why (and to where) he disappeared!
Elsewhere, the team races to find a less welcome returnee, Grodd, who’s taken Caitlin hostage to stage his own remake of King Kong, while Patty suspects that Barry is hiding something from her. (She’s pretty good at this whole detective thing, yes?)

Henry Allen = Zoom. “It’s a trap!”
Yeah – the physical size is pretty spot on. & almost certainly the Earth 2 version. Interesting that most of the Earth 2 counterparts are – for the most part – morally the reverse of the Earth 1 characters: Linda Park vs Dr Light, Reverse Flash vs Harrison Wells. Wonder what Barry & Iris are like, probably driving their 3 year old to child care& living happily in the suburbs.
But Reverse Flash wasn’t Harrison Wells. RF was Eobard Thawne essentially wearing a “Wells” costume. It’s sad how fans and the show alike are character assassinating this poor man. Not only did the dude die, lose his wife and never see the creation of his dream lab, he’s got a bad rap too? I’m sure Earth 1 Wells was a nice guy (even though Earth 2 wells is a plain old grumpy jerk).
…who’s trying to save his daughter, don’t forget.
What if the Henry Allen that go released from prison was Zoom all along? *Gasp*
The problem with it being Earth-1 Henry Allen is from everything we’ve heard Zoom has been active awhile on Earth-2.
Now, Earth-2 Henry Allen on the other hand…
What if the same accident that caused Barry to become the Flash gave Henry the ability to move fast and travel the multiverse? We never saw Zoom come through the vortex thing, right? Maybe he doesn’t have to. It might explain why his costume is a version of Barry’s and not Jay’s.
You could be onto something! I bet Zoom followed Jay through the singularity, Zoom wouldn’t have just stopped when he’s able to follow him… Omg that’s probably when he first learned about Barry, and that was right when Henry was being released! And that would explain why Henry has been gone since then if Zoom is Earth-2 Henry.
I remember when Iris suspected Barry was hiding something from her as early as episode 2, and people just called her nosy. :) Sorry! Still bitter!
Me too… but these same people view Patty as “cute” and “adorable” when she’s much worse, to the point of accusing Joe of being a dirty cop.
Yep! and then after months of Joe and Barry lying to her and gaslighting her for “her own protection” people were calling her dumb for not figuring it out! *sigh*
I know right?? I thought the same thing. Such double standards. There was hate for Iris before the show even aired though, so there is more to people’s hate for Iris’ character than simply their reaction to her performance (*wink wink). I think that no matter what Iris does, there will be a group of people that will find ANY excuse to hate on her. That’s the crazy world of ignoramuses we live in unfortunately.
Ya, it feels like this Henry Allen is Zoom, I just hope they have a good reason for earth 2 Henry/ zoom to want earth 1 Barry dead, maybe something wrong with earth 2 Barry, and killing our earth 1 Barry is the only way to fix it. I just spit balling ideas, but for Henry to show up now, its Zoom related.
I don’t think he is attacking Barry personally.. It’s more along the lines of wanting to be the only speedster in any world.
Glad to have Henry back hope to get some insight unto his abrupt departure always there for GRODD but the whole king Kong damsel in distress thing….. keeping my fingers crossed it’s done well finally a scene with Barry and Iris that will hopefully not get cut again really hope she will be using her reporter skills to track Grodd like she did in ep 21.
“Hi Barry, sorry for suddenly leaving you before after all these years of you waiting for me to be released so we can spend time together. I just dropped by because I think I left my keys. …oh, wait, no, found them. Okay, bye again!”
I still think that if the mirror situation works for the Earth 2 Queen’s (Oliver is dead and Robert is the Arrow) then it also should work for the Allen-2 family: Henry is a speedster and Barry is in jail for his mom’s murder. Now if the Henry Allen that is coming back next week is Earth 2 Henry = Zoom now that would one hell of a twist!
It’s great that Henry is back but I’m more interested in why Harry is wearing the Reverse Flash suit.
For tricking Grodd
It’s to use against Grodd to fool him, to Grodd, Wells/ Reverse Flash is basically his father figure ( it was written on the walls in the sewer when we first met Grodd ). I’m wondering tho if they’re going to use Barry’s suit.. With abit of his speed left in it from Barry using it so much… Origin of a new reverse flash maybe?And possibly a partner to take down Zoom?
Henry is already dead even before he was freed. That’s wh the character upon getting out of the prison went away with no reason at all. He was already Henry-2 aka Zoom at that point. The Singularity release him together with jay on Earth-1.
Or he was alive until he left Star labs and Joe dropped him off wherever he did. I’m betting when Jay got sucked through the breach between earths, Zoom followed shortly after to make sure he was dead. And thats when he learned about Barry, Jays speed loss, and likely seen Henry an took him or killed him.

What kind of doctor was Henry Allen before he was imprisoned on Earth-1?
Starting to accept the Henry Allen theory being Zoom, but I still think a Thawne is still a good possibility. If they just drop the Thawne family significance I’ll be kind of disappointed.
I think I noticed an “Easter egg” as I think there called, when Cisco says “next time we’re doing this im writing better dialogue” And Caitlin says “next time?!”… Killer Frost “Easter egg “
They’re going to put Grodd against Zoom, Grodd will defend Harry Wells, and I’m betting the speed dampening shot Cisco got Zoom with is enough to keep him stuck in Earth-1 for abit. That would be a good fight.
