The CW is doing its part to make staying at home a little easier with new installments of Riverdale, The Flash and more of its biggest shows. Though production on these fan favorites remains shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, completed episodes will resume airing next month.
Nancy Drew is the first to return on April 8 at 9/8c, picking up after that game-changing reveal about the titular sleuth’s connection to Lucy Sable. (Click here for our spoiler-filled interview with the drama’s executive producers about how Nancy’s life has been changed forever.)
New installments of Riverdale return the following week — Wednesday, April 15 at 8 pm — with its latest musical episode, an interpretation of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. (Click here for a breakdown of which song each character is performing.)
The Arrowverse is also making a major comeback later this month, with new episodes of The Flash (8 pm) and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (9 pm) premiering on Tuesday, April 21. Meanwhile, Batwoman (8 pm) will resume its freshman season on Sunday, April 26, while Supergirl (9 pm) will return on Sunday May 3.
Here’s a full breakdown of when new episodes will resume:
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8
9 pm Nancy Drew
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15
8 pm Riverdale
THURSDAY, APRIL 16
8 pm Katy Keene
9 pm In the Dark (season premiere)
TUESDAY, APRIL 21
8 pm The Flash
9 pm DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
SUNDAY, APRIL 26
8 pm Batwoman
SUNDAY, MAY 3
9 pm Supergirl
Charmed, Dynasty and Roswell, New Mexico were excluded from this list because they’re all currently airing original episodes as scheduled.
Other CW-centric events worth keeping on your calendar include the The 100‘s final season premiere on Wednesday, May 20 (8 pm) and the series premiere of DC’s Stargirl on Tuesday, May 19 (8 pm).
Which CW show have you missed the most? And which shows’ potentially shortened seasons are you worried about? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.
So this means that The Flash has only 4 completed episodes if Stargirl comes in on the 19th of May
Stargirl was scheduled to premiere May 12th after Flash. It was then pushed back to May 19th and will take over Flash’s timeslot, followed by Legends. Flash and Batwoman were both filming their respective episode 19 when production was halted as I understand.
Glad that my shows are coming back soon. Can’t wait to see Stargirl, Flash, Supergirl, Legends, etc,. What would really be neat would be the return of the Spectre. In one of the programs. Or better yet, bringing in Bruce Wayne/Batman. Keep up the good work guys and girls.
Does this delayed return of current series impact the return of The 100 in May? I’m hoping the majority of the current shows will have concluded their seasons by then, leaving room in the schedule for The 100 so it’s not also delayed.
.
And there’s Pandora to return, too, but I think that’s a mid-summer show?
Grrr… Never mind, I see you confirmed it as May 20. No TVLine points for me! Sorry!
What about Supernatural?
They don’t have any other completed episodes. I’m expecting the show won’t be back until the fall after they finish filming the last 2 episodes.
Not to be a Debbie-Downer but unless this whole global pandemic starts to stabilize before May, it’s doubtful they’ll be able to get everyone back together just to film the final 2 episodes. The cast and crew will be forced to move on to other things as the series is ending and contracts are up. They should be able to complete the filmed episodes, but at best the final 2 episodes will be released as a graphic novel.
There’s been reunion episodes of shows before so it’s not impossible. While some of the crew behind the scenes are likely to move on, the actors and showrunner have a lot of love for the fans and have said they intend to finish the story. Worst case would be a graphic novel. CW can always borrow crew from elsewhere. The pandemic has destabilized things true, but the resulting quarantine has slowed a lot of things down, so people might take longer to move on to other projects as a result. Just have to stay positive.

When is Supernatural coming back
Nancy Drew and Roswell, New Mexico are the only CW shows i’m watching so not really any relevance to me.
Well, I for one can sleep now that I know about Samuel’s watching habits.
What’s the plan for Supernatural?
They can’t complete the filmed episodes. Still 2 episodes that haven’t even been filmed. Probably won’t return until the fall. CW generally airs 8 or 9 episodes in the fall, so 7 episodes of Supernatural wouldn’t mess up their schedule too bad.
Batwoman and Supergirl mostly… I am hoping they have enough filming of Supergirl done to complete its season finale (episode 20). Per an interview with Nicole Maines, only a couple of straggler scenes were left to film. If filming doesn’t resume, hopefully offset post production will allow them to finish it. I fully suspect Supergirl will not be in the fall CW schedule to accommodate Melissa’s pregnancy.
Even before all of this started, I figured that SG would have a midseason premiere to allow Melissa to have time after she has the baby to recover, especially if her due date is around the time they would usually go into production for the next season.
That was my initial reaction but then it was reported that S5 was being cut to 20 episodes presumably to begin shooting S6 immeduately after the S5 finale to bank episodes for fall. Now, it looks like a mid season return will be necessitated by this pandemic. I am curious if she will even be in the crossover. I assume if Thirtysomething (else) is picked up, she may want to be stateside with Chris for the duration of the pregnancy.
I figured they would use a stunt double for any scenes in the super suit. And just cgi her head or something. There are hundreds of ways they can cover a baby bump when in regular wardrobe. I can’t see them doing a mid-season premiere for season 6 but who knows.
It will definitely be interesting to see though.
What about Legacies?

Any word on how this is affecting next season storylines? CW typically sets up the next season stories in their previous season finales.
We should all be glad that Riverdale wrapped up this Stonewall prep storyline before it shut down. Ugh, If we had to see it carried into another season….
I didn’t realize Katy Keene was taking a hiatus. I assumed all their episodes where done since it’s a summer series. Either way, all good to know! Thanks for posting!!
Katy Keene is only off for two weeks, I believe they finished all 13 before the shutdown and the finale is scheduled for May 14th.
Oh got it!
I was shocked and crying when i heard the all of my shows including my lovely arrowverse series and riverdale cut off due to coronavirus on saturday but my fave superhero girls is batwoman and supergirl are my best friends forever!
What about Black Lightning?
Season ended wayyyyyy back on March 9.
I thought Riverdale already had there season finale, when they solved who the girl was.
Nope.
The CW’s schedule has been awful this season. So many weeks-long breaks. It’s difficult to set your PVR when you don’t know if your shows are going to be on from one week to the next (and my mom and I watch basically every CW show there is together!)
I really miss THE FLASH
No one is saying anything about Legacies. When will it resume?
So, is it true that they pushed Supergirl’s return date to May 3?
What about Supernatural and Legacies?
I checked to see if Riverdale was on and IT WASNT btw this was on April 15 8:00pm
I really don’t care about Batwoman, and Legends has really gone down, Green Arrow had it’s own universe knowing Oliver Queen was GA, and there were way too many knockoff archers in that city. Supergirl fights all of Superman’s enemies, and makes him out as a wimp. The only 2 good shows are Flash, and Supernatural. The Flash is more about everyone else, and not Barry , but it’s still hanging in there. Maybe, just maybe, Stargirl might be a breath of fresh air
Is flash new or a repeat for April 21 2020 let me know
