We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about lotsa shows including The Rookie, Ted Lasso, Raised by Wolves, NCIS, Survivor, Severance and more!
1 | How many times is Blue Bloods going to tease us with the addition of Reddick to the Three Musketeers? Also, was Episode 250 a criminal underuse of Hadestown’s Andre De Shields?
2 | As soon as you realized that The Rookie this week had shot the entire episode in the style of Real Housewives/KUWK, did you switch the channel to S.W.A.T.? Is two camerawork gimmicks in a season one too many?
3 | How much longer do you think Billions‘ Dave will stick with Chuck once she realizes how truly vindictive he is?
4 | Ted Lasso fans: Prior to Sunday’s 60 Minutes segment revealing that AFC Richmond players were named after friends, family members and old mentors, had you ever noticed that one of the kits hanging in the locker room bared the surname of Jason Sudeikis’ ex, Olivia Wilde (née Cockburn)?
5 | After seeing Captain Tatum mistake takeout menus for quarterly reports, would 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s Mateo have really said nothing and let this guy oversee the response to a fire?
6 | Did The Neighborhood‘s Butler residence somehow get smaller upon renovation? Or does the open floor plan just make it look smaller? And if the kitchen is now where the dining room table used to be, where does that door behind the kitchen lead to?
7 | Could Salen’s Good Doctor exit have been any less anticlimactic? What, are we to believe her feelings for Andrews were strong enough that the thought of having to destroy his career was enough to convince her to back out of a multi-million dollar acquisition?
8 | Was the NCIS flashback casting a bit off, having the taller, lankier kid not be Young Parker? Also, what was the bigger stretch, that Jess would have any trouble finding a plus-one, or that a big family wedding was being held on a workday?
9 | How I Met Your Mother fans, on a scale of 1-10, how loud did you squeal when the camera first panned over to Cobie Smulders, revealing none other than Robin Scherbatsky was seated at MacLaren’s in the How I Met Your Father finale?
10 | Now that Brian Cox has channeled Cassie, which memorable Euphoria scene do you next want to see a Succession star reenact? And were you sorta in awe that Cox even agreed to do that?
11 | How hard did The Bachelor‘s producers have to hit the “applause” button to get the live audience to actually clap for Susie’s deeply disappointing reunion with Clayton? And do you trust EP Mike Fleiss’ assertion that new Bachelorettes Gabby and Rachel won’t be pitted against each other?
12 | We love This Is Us‘ show of solidarity, having Kevin and Nicky go to the hospital to see to Cassidy… but didn’t that leave Edie home alone with a set of infant twins and a potentially very upset Matty?
13 | On Young Rock, did you laugh or groan when The Rock and Randall Park sang Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road”? And are you as pumped as we are to see guest star Sean Astin play a jabroni from Dewey’s childhood?
14 | Were you surprised and slightly disappointed the Sistas‘ midseason finale didn’t get a Tyler Perry after show?
15 | Where you shocked when Good Trouble‘s Callie said that she and Mariana moved to The Coterie only 11 months ago?
16 | Were you pleasantly surprised that The Conners didn’t kill off Chuck’s wife Anne-Marie? (Following the deaths of Roseanne, Ed Sr. and Molly, we just assumed it was customary for someone from the OG show to be killed off every season!)
17 | Let’s hear it, Survivor fans: Who is your favorite castaway this season and why is it Maryanne? Also, how do you feel about the secret phrases being back in play?
18 | In the Resident Alien midseason finale, is it possible that the E.T. that killed Logan is possibly one of the mysterious Greys? And are you pumped that Enver Gjokaj is joining the mix?
19 | Chicago Fire fans, would you sign up for Severide the Fire Cop?
20 | Was Snowfall’s CGI tiger better or worse than the one from The Walking Dead a few years ago?
21 | Was any other Million Little Things fan surprised that fastidious Katherine didn’t immediately wash her hands after digging through the garbage to hide her takeout containers? And why would Dan, showing up out of nowhere, thump-thump-thump! on Gary’s door so late at night? (Ever hear of texting?)
22 | On Star Trek: Discovery, how happy were you to see Tilly back with the crew? And how surprised were you by that Stacey Abrams cameo?
23 | Wasn’t Minx‘s penis montage a refreshingly funny take on male full-frontal nudity?
24 | Was Raised by Wolves’ Mother reaching her hand into the injured serpent’s eyeball to remove a gooey chunk of its brain somehow oddly far from being this season’s most squicky imagery? And who else got chills once Grandmother’s agenda became clear?
25 | The theme for the 2022 Met Gala, “Gilded Glamour,” had to have been inspired by HBO’s The Gilded Age, right? And more importantly, do we think the Russells will score an invitation?
26 | Is it just us or is grown-ish‘s Aaron portrait from Vivek the stuff of nightmares?
27 | Do we need to worry about Grey’s Anatomy‘s Meredith and family since not a peep of a fire alarm was heard when Maggie sparked the living-room blaze?
28 | Given how long it took MasterChef Junior Season 8 to come out, did anyone else Google to see how old the child that judge Daphne Oz was pregnant with at the time now is? (Answer: Gigi turns 3 in August!)
29 | Any other Severance watchers on the fence as to whether Patricia Arquette’s Big Bad Harmony is downright terrifying or bust-a-gut hilarious?

19. No I hated the arson investigation storylines before and now it feels like every week there is a new one 🙄. Once or twice a season, fine….. almost every damn episode is getting annoying.
Agree. And if Severide the Fire Cop means we have to see Seager, then count me out!
Also dislike Seager but think they are setting up a romance between her and the Fire Truck’s new hire so….guess we’ll be seeing her….
10. Maybe I’m the only one, but after that I want Sydney Sweeney to act a Logan Roy scene. I think she’d kill it.
YES!! Exactly. I want to see her do the scene in the finale where she plays Logan yelling at the kids:
You’re Playing toy F***ing soldiers. Go On! F*** Off! I have you beat! Morons
Yes! Maybe the “life is a knife fight in the dirt” scene.
#17. CBS did a good round of casting for Survivor. Maryanne is nice, but the bromance with Jonathan and Omar is fun to watch.
#12 Was it a man who wrote the question? She would have no problem watching the three kids.
#17 I have to mute the tv every time Maryann opens her mouth!
I agree. Maryanne has to be the most annoying survivor contestant in a long time. She needs to go…SOON
I agree. I don’t see how people can actually like her. I think she’s incredibly annoying.
8. The casting did seem a bit off, but who knows, maybe Parker had a late growth spurt in his teens? Jess not finding a date was probably the bigger stretch, but it’s not like no one wanted to go, everybody was just busy. Which weekday was the wedding? Because if it’s a Friday, then it’s not that big of a stretch. People sometimes have Friday weddings because they’re cheaper.
Some might argue penises were already fun…
Yes, they’ve always been fun!
:
2–It turned out to be a pretty good episode and also moved the story line about Aaron along, but the mockumentary format is getting a little tired.
All Mary Ann, all the time! Love her so
I agree Jonathan. Her enthusiasm makes my heart happy. She’s so innocent and this opportunity is so BIG for her and I’m enjoying seeing this opportunity thru her eyes
21) Are we to believe that in this market, the Dixon house is still for sale?
I’ve seen houses in the Denver area sit on market for 4-5 months, not too often but happens. Price may be too high.
9. It was a 0 because knew it was happening due to reading the recap from this site before the episode, I find if you know happens makes more enjoyable. I do like spoilers.
#2 – I was annoyed to see that it was the documentary style again, however I really enjoyed it when I watched it.
8) Any day of the week is likely a NCIS work day. They are known to work a case anytime. But in this case, I could see the wedding being held on say a Friday night. Week day weddings are known to happen.
Yep, My daughter tried to get a Friday night date for her wedding and couldn’t find one as they were taken, so she’s doing a Sunday evening as it has a similar price.
.
18. LOVE Enver. Would like to see him back on NCIS: Hawaii as well.
.
29. Harmony is just evil. I don’t see any humor in her. That said, I adore the show. It’s so good. I just find her obession with Mark, in particular, evil.
27: it was a small flame that burned for like 10 seconds before the episode ended. You guys take some things way too seriously.
Agreed. If fire alarms went off every time a woman burned a letter, my entire teenage years would’ve been nothing but firemen (on second thought, maybe that’s not so bad…).
22. Who?
Not a “cameo” that plays to international audiences.
Tilly was too little, too late in an absolute stinker of a season.
Always beautifully shot with dazzling effects at least.
12- No, Edie has handled far worse in her job. Further, Marty had been shown to be a great helper with the twins, which could have given him something else on which to focus
1. What a bummer, I was hoping she was finally joining the team.
19. Yes
22. Loved Stacey Abrams cameo
12. It was late at night. The kids were all asleep.
21. Presumably Dan wanted it to be a surprise.
12 – no, wasn’t Nicky’s love interest also at the cabin (sorry forget her name, she’s only been on a couple of times)
Oops – read that way too quickly. Why exactly would you think an adult couldn’t handle 3 kids for a few hours?!
11. The Bachelor jumped the proverbial shark this season. Joe Millionaire was by far more appealing, with people you could root for, than Clayton and his absolute botching of other people’s feelings and selfish boorish “transparent” b/s behavior. I’m done with it, it hasn’t brought me joy in years TBH.
2. The Rookie : I know that I’m in the minority, but I liked both of the documentary-style episodes from this season and last. Not a big fan of the POV camerawork from Hit and Run, but I think it’s great that they are trying new things. They don’t always work, but it beats having the exact same formula week after week.
10. Brian Cox : this man was in Super Troopers and is the voice of McDonald’s. Nothing he does surprises me, and he’s got a great sense of humor.
For those of you who watch ‘Home Ec’ and started watching this week’s episode, was your response “Good Lord!”?
7. Anticlimactic is the perfect word to describe Salen’s exit.
8. Parker was 14 in the flashback. It’s totally feasible that he hadn’t had a growth spurt yet. One of my nephews went from a 5’5 ninth grader to 6’2 as a 12 grader and most of that growth happened his junior year.
Also, the wedding Jess was going to was probably on a Fri evening. Many couples are getting married on Fridays now. It’s cheaper and venues have better availability.
12. Edie was more than capable of handling three children, including infants, especially since they were probably all still sleeping.
2. For the record and since you asked, the husband was in viewer’s hell. His nonstop groaning kind of took the enjoyment edge off my viewing. In fact, I think it did take an early delete flip, so I have to finish it on demand or some such. Someday, I guess. Let’s just say … not riveting camera work.
I hated the camera gimmicks in the rookie completely. I literally skipped the episode and decided not to watch it. Too much camera gimmicks in my opinion ruin the fluidity of the show
13. Doesn’t Young Rock take place in the 80s? Why would they have a 90s song being sung in the 80s?
I haven’t seen the episode, but since it mentions Randall Park is in the scene doesn’t that mean it takes place in the future storyline? And even if you just mean in general, I’m pretty sure the young adult Rock storyline takes place in the 90s.
Young Rock takes place throughout various timelines, including the 90s. The scenes with Rock and Randall, where they are singing Boys II Men, take place in the future (the year 2032) when Rock is running for President so yes, they could be singing songs from the 90s.
2. Rookie- *(Spoiler!)*
Did they ever tell us How Morris found out it was Rowan who killed Partrick.
