Supergirl is relocating to Sundays this fall — and that’s not the only major change in store for Kara & Co. The CW has released a new trailer Supergirl‘s fourth season, premiering Oct. 14 at 8/7c, which gives us a glimpse at what the Girl of Steel will be up against in just a few weeks.
“Fear. No matter how much we believe in ourselves, that never really goes away,” Kara says in the trailer. “I think, ‘I’m not afraid of anything,’ and then something chases me back down the rabbit hole. But once we catch ourselves, we have to jump right back out there.” She’s speaking to Nia Nal (played by Nicole Maines), a new cub reporter at CatCo who will eventually become Dreamer, television’s first transgender superhero. This new trailer also gives us our first look at Rhona Mitra (The Last Ship) as iconic DC villain Mercy Graves, as well as Sam Witwer (Being Human) as anti-alien hatemonger Agent Liberty.
As previously reported, Supergirl is experiencing a bit of a casting shakeup as we head into Season 4: Not only has Jesse Rath (aka Brainy) been promoted to series regular, but neither Jeremy Jordan (Winn) nor Chris Wood (Mon-El) will be seen in National City when Supergirl returns. (The show’s producers have assured TVLine that a plan is in motion to have Winn appear when Jordan is finished with Broadway’s American Son, whereas Mon-El isn’t expected to be seen again.)
Hit PLAY on the new trailer, then drop a comment with your hopes for Supergirl Season 4 below.
I am hyped! Looking forward to the new season.
Well, now that Mon-El’s political marriage is basically over, he has a very nice young lady named Tasmia Mallor to fall for… :-D
I’m looking forward to the new season. Brainy has really grown on me. James outing himself as Guardian could finally give him an interesting storyline. J’onn’s new status quo has potential. Alex’ new role as well. And we still have the most important backstop, the Alex/Kara sibling bond.
Yep…all last season I was thinking but Tasmia!
This looks INCREDIBLE!! I can’t wait to see Nia Nal (Nicole Maines) in action!
Can’t wait for her scenes with Kara/Supergirl. But I do have a question though, will Nia Nal/Dreamer be having scenes with Benjamin Lockwood/Agent Liberty?
me too! will she have scenes with Agent Liberty (Sam Witer)?
what is her origins on the show and will she met any other characters like for example agent liberty?
Really excited the show didn’t take the easy way out and bring Mon-El as a love interest for Supergirl. Decisions like that can be tough and normally shows bring back characters and then do little with them.
Wow, this looks horrible. And moving to Sunday night makes it clear even the CW has lost faith in this mess. The “new suit” makes her look like a Power Ranger. Just so much fail here.
Oh well, at least we still have season 1 to rewatch and enjoy.
Pretty sure the new suit is the Soviet Kara’s.
Ah… didn’t think of that. I was hoping the Soviet/Russian SG has a Power Girl type suit… the PG colors would work.
I did read we would see the Red Daughter SG at the beginning of the season and then that story would go back burner until the second half of the season when it comes front and center.
I thought it was for swimming like Wonder Woman’s bike riding, swimming outfit from there seventies 😁
I think it’s a show of faith actually.
I think its the other way around… Sunday is a new night for the CW, they want that night to do good, and they chose Supergirl.
I agree. Although, I like the corniness of the suit. This will probably be my last season and I’m not even going to watch it live since it would get in the way of football.
If the CW had lost faith in Supergirl they wouldn’t have used Supergirl to launch their new Sunday programming. CW didn’t beg the affiliates to get Sundays back just to put on shows that would make the affiliates wonder why they gave Sundays back to the CW. CW would put on a show they felt would show the affiliates it was a good idea. So just the opposite. CW has a lot of faith in this “mess”.
1) Quite the opposite, actually. They’re using Supergirl to anchor the new Sunday night because they have faith in it.
2) I’m guessing the new suit isn’t going to be her regular duds. It’s either for the anti-Supergirl, or it’s for space/underwater because hey, even Supergirl needs to breathe eventually, right?
The new trailer for the new season looks good. I can’t wait to watch the new season next month!
Wow, was expecting a costume change.
Is she related to Spriderman?
Is Spriderman from Krypton?
One Spider-Man is Marvel property Superman and Supergirl are DC like Batman two Spider-Man is human like us only alien superheros are Superman and Girl and Martian Manhunter.
I would like to drop a comment that your site is trash and biased.
Please elaborate.
She joined the Kryptonian Fencing Team, obviously!!!
Maybe the “new suit” isn’t a suit at all, but rather the show’s riff on the Superman robots that guard and maintain the Fortress of Solitude and sometimes help out in the comics.
They have already had Kelex in the Fortress of Solitude on Supergirl and he is much more robotic looking, He was gold in color, a cyclops, and has no legs, just hovers in the air. Supergirl destroyed Kelex after he attacked her. Later on Superman told her she owes him a new robot.
Great preview. Can’t wait for new SG, Legends and BL!!
not excited at all about s4, they get rid of fan favourite characthers like Winn and Mon-el .
instead of investing time in the characters and storylines we’re interested, they’re adding 20 NEW characters for NEW storylines that we don’t give a *** about.
The other CW shows have most of there original cast still there and they gradually added new characters. Supergirl justs rips the ones we love away and throws 10 new ones hoping we will at least like 1 and that is just so ridiculous.
I guess Jeremy will do only one ep and then will dissapear like Cat
this reset is nonsense
Also It’s so sad and dirispectful The way the supergirl writers and producers are acting toward Mon-El character. they are trying to erase Mon-el presence on the show, like he never existed and wasn’t important, they are taking every change to diminish how important he was to kara
the issue here is acting like he never existed, Maggie is not there either, but her precence was never diminished, and they never denied how important she was to alex.
also this is not fair to the fans that loved Mon-el from minute 1, because despite what haters want people to believe, he has a lot of fans, that were polite, optimistic, always supported the show.
The way they are acting is direspectful mostly to Chris who put a lot of energy in play this character and was bully in return for no reason.
They are sending the message that bully actor and writers is ok.
all the frustation I had after the finale is coming back to me, because I feel like i was cheated by the writers and I invested 2 years in this ship I love and now they are saying you waste your time, we don’t care about you
reminder to the writers:
– you have to respect the character and story YOU build for TWO years
– your audience is important, all of them , don’t listen only on the vocal and angry part of that
You have way too much free time.
I think she’s expressing a valid opinion and instead of engaging positively you go passive aggressive on her. The show has telegraphed the message that bullying their talent is okay.
Reports say that Winn will be back after Jeremy Jordan finishes his Broadway run.
I agree with Lara. I didn’t know about all the drama online though about Chris Wood. I wrote some similar thoughts below. I am really upset by the tease at the end of s3 to just have him toss a ring &disappear. No kiss?!?! They were madly in love. He came back. Decided to stay because he still loved her. Then it’s like someone else wrote the last half if the s3 finale. It seemed like they had a direction then had rewrites & had to reshoot. Editing sucked. I felt cheated. Tuning in every week to see if they run back to each other. Then tease. At least on Arrow & Flash, we finally got the weddings!
If she shakes her head, does a blue triangle float to the surface that says “Signs point to yes.” I think they stole that outfit from Dr. Underbheit’s former underling.
I wish they would do fun stuff like that and lean into the ridiculousness of the premise. Unfortunately it seems Legends of Tomorrow is the only one of the CW superhero shows to have a sense of humor. Is it too much to hope for Mercy Graves to wear a chauffer’s hat at some point?
I understand Wynn needing to go so Jeremy can go be a big Broadway star. But why Man-El? I saw a post about internet critics that didn’t like Chris Wood or the Man-El character?!?! Why?!?! I waited patiently for Man-El to return to Kara & they end up teasing us with that bs end of s3 I was annoyed all season that he wasn’t coming back and when he did, he was married?!?! Not cool. Now he’s gone forever, just like that. They gave him a very lame exit too. I am happy to see he is writing and directing his own film, so that’s great for him. But what about ME? He was my eye candy and I adored the chemistry with Kara. I mourned their breakup with Kara. I didn’t know they were a real couple until I came across it a few months ago. All the fan videos set to music etc. People created great videos with their scenes on Krypton’s tiny planet/home. I really have to pay better attention I guess bc I keep getting let down. I am excited for Rhona joining the cast. I hope they step up the writing now that there’s no lovey dovey couples. They mutilated any chance of Kara and James when they did a 180 with Man-El etc. I’ll give it a chance though. Considering waiting to binge it.
I liked the show up until the gay agenda started keeping its repugnant head through and pushing it on to young girls and boys as well thanks for helping innocent minds become corrupted.sex ed is not Supergirls job. Thanks to the overly “liberal” writers of the show to sticking to what the comic really meant as opposed to putting their own sick and twisted opinions and views into this now wrecked legendary masterpiece.
