Sean Hannity clearly irked fellow Fox News host Tucker Carlson in front of millions of viewers on Tuesday evening, then later apologized for the extremely awkward on-air rebuke.
Carlson had closed his own program with a segment in which he noted that while millions of Americans are out of work and/or draining their savings because of the coronavirus pandemic’s impact on the economy, Amazon chief Jeff Bezos has gotten “extremely rich from all of this, including a lot of the suffering” — making $13 billion on Monday alone. (Watch the full segment down below.)
Shortly thereafter, when Carlson turned things over to his lead-out at the top of the hour, Hannity interjected, “People can make money. They provide goods and services people want, need and desire. That’s America. It’s called freedom, capitalism, and as long as it’s honest, right, people decide.”
Late in the evening, Hannity offered a mea culpa via Twitter, while clarifying his stance on Bezos making billions during a pandemic.
“I apologize for any misunderstanding to Tucker and the Fox audience,” he wrote. “I support freedom and Capitalism. Not people taking advantage of a pandemic. If I see such evidence I will obviously condemn it.”

This is just a distraction from the earlier reports of the week. Taking a page out of their dark lord’s (trump) playbook.
Okay now kiss and make up. Slowly.
🤮
Do not deny the love that is between them. I may even say that it is…….Love Done Right
so now they are eating their own?
Hannity had to work fast because he had to change into a dress and become Laura Ingraham
You win the internet. x-D
Nothing Hannity said was wrong though. I mean, that *is* fundamental to what their party and viewers believe in. It comes off as Hannity reprimanding Carlson for stepping to far away from towing the party line. Not a personal attack per se. Like he was warning him that that kind of talk will magically turn him into a socialist. I don’t see why he should have apologized.
.
Sure, Bezos’ making bank but considering he’s the line of business he’s in at least in some small way people are getting a much needed service. Do I think he should be getting that much? Hell no. However there are bigger billionaires to fry. I’m far more disgusted by the amount of money Elon Musk is making. That’s somebody Carlson should be calling out. Especially his support for Kanye running for president. 🙄
*too not to 🤦
Mods please fix my comment. I also have any extra “he’s” in there. Ugh. I need more sleep.
I give up 🤸 🛌
To me it’s less about how much they make, but more about what they do with it once they have. Bill and Melinda Gates make use of that wealth to help people. Warren Buffet handed a huge chunk of his over to them in order to do the same. I can’t speak to the charitable outlay of Musk or Bezos. Or even to how much of those billions are actual dollars or simply a value estimate of their holdings, but if someone has that kind of wealth and a willingness to use it for good, I trust them to accomplish more with it than I ever will the government bureaucracy.
What people do with the money they make is irrelevant in a capitalist system. To be concerned or even regulate that in any way is to go against an individual’s natural right to freedom. Why do you think the wealthy are so against taxes and regulations?
.
And you may be against government bureaucracy but who so you think is the one that keeps the cogs of a capitalist system going? Unless you’re arguing for total laissez-faire. How well do you trust individuals to handle production and trade all by themselves? If I’ve learned one thing for certain in 2020 so far, it’s that when it comes down to it, the majority of people absurdly selfish.
They can do what they want with money they earned. I just think better of those who use some of it to help others.
I just want to commend whoever selected this freeze frame still shot photo for the story. Well done.
I love how TV Line thinks this is “news.” Any opportunity to take a shot at the one network that doesn’t traffic in liberal orthodoxy.
Carlson and Hannity were just named in a sexual assault law suit, and then they get into a tense exchange on air, how is that NOT news?
Yeah and hannity has been named in lawsuits before but guess what he fights back and usually wins
It’s funny/sad you think “wins” means he’s “not guilty”.
Rich people get way with everything. I know you are smart enough to know that. So, why “he fights and wins” doesn’t mean a darn thing. And you it doesn’t.
The woman who is supposedly suing them has already been debunked as a loony tune. That suit isn’t going anywhere.
As far as the woman who is going after Ed Henry, well he may have done something inappropriately, yet she is not as innocent as she claims herself.
Countervailing merits of the underlying positions aside, very poor form by Hannity: cuffing Carlson when there is no opportunity for Carlson to reply. Hannity should apologize in the same forum — prime time, millions watching — not after hours in the shadows. Sadly, Hannity seems to abjure dialogue, preferring the one-sided, robotic monologue that currently typifies his style. In any event, he owes Tucker an unambiguous, on-air apology.
The look on Carlson’s face when Hannity was talking was HILARIOUS! He looked more confused than usual. Can’t have anyone disagreeing with him, now can we? That was precious.
FOX never ending story.
Lots of rich people are getting richer via the pandemic, but Hannity forgot for a moment that Bezos is the one billionaire who’s supposed to be criticized on Fox News because Trump has chosen Bezos as an enemy. When Hannity remembered that, he apologized.
White on white crime is destroying America. lololololol
Its great making money, until you have to much of it and think you can do any thing you want to the human race. Like take over the moon. Just another sociopath!
The point isn’t that Bezos made $13 billion in one day, that’s Capitalism as Hannity correctly pointed out. The point he missed that Carlson was making, is that as a far left social engineering Democrat, they are supposed to be for the “little people,” while the evil Republicans are supposedly to be the uncaring party of the rich. Bezos is at the forefront of policies that hurt the regular middle class worker, yet we’re supposed to follow their dictates as the out-of-touch elitists they are. Bezos, Soros, Gates, yeah, the party of the common man, right. And TRUMP is out of touch? Sure, you bet. That was the message, and Hannity should have watched the whole thing before commenting.
And, can you please go find me person on the left who is singing the praises of Bezos, Soros or Gates?
Elfin Doctor Fauci sings the praises of his Elfin Lord Bill Gates many times.
If you don’t think he’s a Democrat, then you haven’t been paying attention much.
Hannity is a good “ talker” and often makes very good points. But he is not a good “listener”, and often looks silly. Last night was a really good example. He looked foolish. I wish too that when he asks a question of his guest contributors, he would stop giving speeches before he asks a question. Just ask the question and then LISTEN.
I totally agree with you on that. Hannity has a bad habit of taking up air time with his set ups. Then runs out of it just as the responder’s answers are getting good.
The best interview he gave was when he had the father of the 19 year old son who got killed in CHAZ-CHOP Seattle.
He gave the man and his friend at least 20 minutes of uninterrupted air time. It was riveting.
Wish Sean would do his interviews like that more often.
Im with Tucker on this one. Hannity was not wrong just rude. He should have just left it.
When are you going to start covering the drama happening on CNN and MSNBC with as much attention as you do Fox?
Your bias is showing. And on a site that is devoted to entertainment TV, not the news stations. Which is why you cover the drama at Fox and ignore anything that happens at CNN and MSNBC.
Give it time. When Don Lemonhead or Fredo Cuomo on CNN or Rachel Madcow on MSNBC make some big anti-American anti-Trump news, it will be all over this place and the liberal hypocrite commentators will come out of the woodwork.
Just give it time.
They’re both disgusting idiots who spew nothing but vitriol and falsehoods. Throw in Pirro and Ingraham and you have a quartet of vile purveyors of bigotry and racism.
