Samantha Bee Dissects James Comey Termination — aka President Trump’s ‘Saturday Night Live Massacre’
Jon Stewart famously took pride in pointing out the oft ridiculous practices of cable news — and as of Wednesday, it’s safe to say that torch has been passed down to fellow Daily Show alum Samantha Bee.
The Full Frontal host began her latest broadcast by pointing out that “the only FBI drama most Americans expected to unfold on TV were the upcoming seasons of Twin Peaks and The X Files,” but that all changed once President Donald Trump chose to terminate FBI Director James Comey amid the ongoing investigation into his alleged ties to Russia.
“Our dumb Democracy ran into a wall with a bucket on its head again,” Bee surmised, before referring to Comey’s firing as just the latest example of the “slow-motion clusterf—k of impulsiveness and ineptitude that this White House is famous for.” She then turned her attention to how the “shockwave bombshell earthquake” news was covered by the cable news giants, all of whom aired live coverage of Comey’s SUV on an L.A. highway as if he were O.J. Simpson in a white Bronco.
“The cable news networks flipped out for six hours without a single commercial break, which means Americans spent the whole evening not knowing who to call about mesothelioma, [or] what pill to take for opioid-induced constipation,” she said, sarcastically. “They say those who forget history are doomed to repeat it, but last night, those who remember history got pretty repetitive.”
Case in point? The montage that followed, featuring cable news pundits comparing Trump’s firing of Comey to President Richard Nixon’s Saturday Night Massacre, during which he terminated the independent special prosecutor who was investigating the Watergate Scandal. Ending on a clip of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews accidentally referring to the event as the “Saturday Night Live massacre,” Bee was then reminded of a short-lived Aaron Sorkin drama.
“Wasn’t that the working title for Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip?” she asked.

I think your confusing Sam bee with trump or spicer or Kelly Anne Conway or anyone else from this “administration”.
Freedom of Speech allows everyone to open their mouths, even you. I would suggest that you not watch “idiotic” shows if you are that incensed about them. But if you insist to continue your behavior of commenting on things that you don’t like, I will try to tolerate your freedom to do so. But you should know, your comments, without any substance behind them, probably aren’t going to change anybody’s minds or opinions.
Well the D TV Reality man in office provides quite a bit of material for these late night comedians. Due to his mental incapacity he probably thinks he is still on the Apprentice. Seriously, you can’t make this sh.t up if you try. Never in all my life have I seen such incompetence. I do love her though, she makes you laugh at the atrocity of this administration.

Here is a chicken or egg question. Who is the real moron, Bee or those who watch her? Typical liberal hypocrite as she was also one of the many who called for Comey’s head when Hillary lost. What really is mind boggling is just how stupid people who make comments on video think the rest of us forget it. Should you be talking about #45 and his supporters like that. Lack of morality, integrity or moral compass is why he was elected. You should look up the word hypocrite because Conservatives have a patent on the word.
And you seem to forget how Trump praised James Comey for his handling of the carelessness of Clinton’s using a private e-mail server and yet he used how Comey handled the situation as one of the reasons to fire him.

Now if you want to call people hypocrites how about we have a little chat about all the things the tangerine tyrant has critized Obama for, but has done himself?
Republicans and democrats are both hypocrites. This election confirmed all that. It’s not about who’s right and wrong but that the system is broken. People who are determined to hate Donald will find fault in everything he does good or bad. Just like Obama got all the hate from the other side whether he did good or bad. It’s a never ending cycle that makes social media and other things a real chore to read and interact with now. But that’s probably a comment more about the state of humanity then anything.
I wouldn’t say that. I mean, I’m a liberal, and I cheered when Trump put an end to the TPP. It just so happens I don’t think he’s done anything else positive of note so far.

Love Sam. And think about it. She and her hubby became naturalized US citizens just a couple of years ago. So, I am certain That Sam has more knowledge of the constitution than the Fool Of Mar A Lago.
