Will Once Upon a Time connect romantic dots before it’s too late? Which Chicago couple will be intruded upon? Who is TV’s new Sabrina hanging with? What brings back a Legends cutie? Read on for answers to those questions plus teases from other shows.
Can you tease anything about Once Upon a Time‘s LGBT romance? —Jadis
Coming off the midseason finale’s reveal that said romance is between Not-Just-of-Wonderland’s Alice and Zelena’s daughter Robin, we will “absolutely” learn how it came to be, says co-creator Eddy Kitsis. “You’re going to see how they met, how they fell in love…. We’re going to show the entire relationship,” he assures. “We just wanted to do a time jump and then fill it out in the second half of the season (arriving Friday, March 2).”
Anything new on the second half of Once Upon a Time Season 7? —Rachel
As in, the second half of what is now Once‘s final season…? When I saw Mekia Cox at TCA, she previews the introduction of Tiana’s Prince Naveen, who apparently will pop up in Hyperion Heights (played by Beyond‘s Jeff Pierre). “There are some people that Sabine meets that might be familiar to the fans of Princess Tiana’s story — one in particular, who’s a love interest,” she teased. Similarly, Dr. Facilier (played by Daniel Francis) will be resurfacing with a cursed identity of his own. “It’s fitting, I’ll say that!” Cox teased of the soothsayer’s Hyperion Heights vocation. “I really like what they’ve done with his character. I think everyone will be pleased to see what he’s up to.” Bonus scoop: Episode 19, which is titled “Flower Child,” will feature a group of wood nymphs, the leader of which has a daughter who is anxious to explore the human world.
Any idea when we’ll see Thunder suit up on Black Lightning? —Michele C.
Actually, you will see Anissa (played by Nafessa Williams) suit up this Tuesday night — though her first instinct about what to wear quickly proves to be, um, battle un-ready. What she then gets properly fitted for, thanks to a super-helpful boutique clerk (and colorful latex), is pretty fabulous for a “beta” costume. And that’s not even counting what she does with her hair….
Any info regarding Percy aka City Mouse’s exit from NCIS: New Orleans? —Hollie
No news yet, but exiting cast member Shalita Grant does have a big episode airing Tuesday, Feb. 27….
Is that “human” Gideon in the new Legends of Tomorrow photos? What brings her back? —Sal
Previewing next Monday’s episode of the CW series, Amy Louise Pemberton aka Gideon says, “[It] is very much about Zari and her learning her place within the team, and Gideon’s basically manifested herself to help her figure out where she fits in the team.” As for how the team’s newest member takes to meeting the ship’s AI face to “face,” Tala Ashe said, “Given the context of [it], I think she will initially be quite pissed off…. The way that Gideon enters Zari’s world is perplexing and makes her pretty mad at first!”
Do you know if Netflix’s Sabrina series will be sticking the core of Sabrina, Harvey, Hilda, Zelda and Salem? — Riana
If you’re a fan of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Robert Hack’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comics, you can expect to see most of your favorite characters appear at one point or another. A sneak peek of the pilot script revealed Harvey’s arrival, while Aguirre-Sacasa recently posted the first picture of Salem on Twitter. Additionally, I’ve learned that casting is currently underway for Prudence, the Regina George-esque leader of a bewitching trio known as the Weird Sisters, and Father Blackwood, a High Priest of the Church of Night who becomes an “oppressive authority figure in Sabrina’s dark education.”
What’s the early word on Legion Season 2? —Nicole
TVLine’s Dave Nemetz says that in the FX hit’s Season 2 premiere (airing Tuesday, April 3) — “visually inventive and absolutely baffling as ever” — David has to piece his memory back together after getting zapped by that orb, and he ends up forming an unlikely alliance to battle the nefarious Shadow King. That baddie from the Marvel comics will make his official on-screen debut this season in the form of Navid Negahban aka Homeland‘s Abu Nazir.
Any word on Neve Campbell’s involvement in the new season of House of Cards? —P.
I would describe her involvement as nil, seeing as LeeAnn Harvey remains very dead.
Can you send me the latest information on Nashville? —Keith
Before the CMT drama’s final season wraps, flashbacks will introduce us to an 8-year-old, guitar-strumming Deacon. (Pegged to the resurfacing of his dad, we assume?)
What can we look forward to when Chicago Fire returns (on March 1)? —Whitney
After a photo of Casey and Severide leaping from the factory fire makes the newspaper, CFD’s PR department decides it’s a good idea to do a “day-in-the-life” spread about the firehouse. But as a result, the photographer “comes into [Dawson and Casey’s] lives in a really intrusive way,” showrunner Derek Haas teases. Meanwhile, “With Stella possibly moving out, Kelly’s going to make his play of why she shouldn’t.”
What’s coming up for The Middle’s Sue? Will the next new episode, “Toasted” (airing Feb. 27), be about her 21st birthday? —KC
“Indeed it will!” showrunner Eileen Heisler confirmed (before a slew of birthday party stills surfaced). “Sue Heck is turning 21… and as you can imagine, it doesn’t go smoothly.”
Any news of what’s to come on CBS’ SEAL Team? –Elspeth
As you might have surmised, given how the accelerated deployment played out for the Hayeses and their already tenuous union, Jason will be open to new romance whilst abroad in JBAD. Herewith is David Boreanaz’s full, unedited quote on the topic: “It’s going to be a whole new show once we are on deployment character-wise, allowing us to do things that we wouldn’t be doing if we were back home and introducing new characters — including a possible new love interest for Jason.” (SEAL Team returns Feb. 28.)
Any scoop on Hawaii Five-0? —Belle
‘Member that undercover op for Tani I teased, airing March 2? It just got more interesting, because it turns out that McGarrett and Danny — having sensed a “chemistry” between the new recruits (thanks to Danny’s vision of a future where they are married?) — send the two undercover as the parents of a student applying at a private school whose headmaster has been murdered.
Is there any chance The Goldbergs’ 1990s spin-off will get a second shot? I quite enjoyed it. –Scott
You can file this under “totally bogus” news, Scott: there are still zero plans for the planted spinoff pilot to move forward as a series.

I’m glad Once Upon a Time has a game plan to give its characters resolution. Alice is certainly the most interesting of the new characters introduced this season.
having LOT ship show up , reminds me of the Dr. Who show where the TARDIS did the same thing,
RE: Hawaii Five-0… I like Tani and I like Junior but I don’t think they have as much chemistry as TPTB believe. Like they do have some chemistry but the writing is so very heavy-handed about them that it undermines their interactions. A little less sledgehammer writing would go a long way with those two. Plus, I think Tani also has chemistry with Steve. Anywho, I want to see move Grover.

I am looking forward to Shalita Grant’s big ep later this month. I am sad but not surprised she is leaving NCIS NOLA cause the show kept writing her out of eps and viewers would have to play “where’s Percy this week?” when she’d be missing. Honestly, I found NCIS NOLA more enjoyable with SG than without her (especially after Zoe McClellan’s scandalous exit cause I liked Brody too) so I don’t think I’ll watch NCIS NOLA once Shalita Grant is gone. At the very least, I hope the writers give the PerSalle shippers something before the end of the season cause their romantic build up should have some pay off, IMO.
I also wonder if her exit has something to do with those articles about Brad Kern’s behavior behind the scenes?
That was refuted in previous reporting. –Mgmt.
You’re right, I see absolutely no chemistry between Tani and Junior, why try to force a romance between two new characters, who have brought this show back to life, just as they are? They have re-energized H50 in a way which I didn’t see coming, especially after the departure of Chin and Kono, when I thought it would be the end. They don’t need to mess things up by shoving them into a romance that is totally unnecessary.
I disagree I see the chemistry between Tani and Junior and think they play off each other very well. I do enjoy the new season, and am happy they bring up Chin and Kono from time to time. Hawaii scenery is a bonus too.
I love the chemistry between Tani and Junior! They’re pretty cute together, and I loved Danny’s vision of them married when he was hallucinating. I think it would be sweet if they got together. Also, Steve and Danny playing matchmaker together is just too cute.
Really disappointed that Nashville is coming to an end…..Any chance of a spin-off in the future
staring Daphne and Maddie ????
Whilst is not a word.
It absolutely is. It’s just generally more prevalent in UK writing/speech. Google is your friend.
+75 TVLine User Points (fun to collect and trade, even whilst they have no cash value)
Who in their right mind would ever trade their TV Line User Points!??
Whilst is a more formal word used mostly in Britain but I’ve seen it used more in the US lately.
Thanks for the Chicago Fire scoop. The photo shoot with Casey and Severide sounds like it could be pretty humorous. As far as Severide and Stella, I hope they don’t begin dating. They are great as friends, kind of similar to he and Shay. I know others will completely disagree but, in my opinion, they have zero romantic chemistry.
I totally agree. I love the Severide and Stella characters sharing the same digs, but not as lovers. They are perfect as friends, and I hate that the writers seem to think they need to bring in romance between the two. Besides, Severide is a rolling stone, he seems to need to go from female to female, on a short term basis only. Having a romance with Stella, would only mess up a perfectly good friendship.
I agree
I agree. I like them as friends. Hate them as a couple.
Thank you for the Scoop. Can we please have some 9-1-1 scoop next time?
Gotta use the email address denoted above in bold type.
I loved both OUAT teases. Off the bonus scoop for it i’m pretty sure I know who the daughter of the leader of the wood nymphis is courtesy of a specific actress on the show pointing out via in insta story of hers that 19 is about her character.
Thanks for showing love for “The Middle”! This wonderful show continues to be must-see for me — and I dread the days ahead when we have no new episodes!d
Happy 21st birthday, Sue Heck!
Ditto!!
Wanna bet that she gets drunk (as the pics suggest) and then Sean confessed his feelings but she doesn’t remember?
This show always makes me laugh. I hope they will have Sue and Sean get engaged before the season/series ends.
Seely Booth playing same character from Bones in his new show Seal Team. What a wonderful gift he has of challenging himself in a new role.
Mr. Boreanaz would argue that claim: https://tvline.com/2018/01/31/david-boreanaz-seal-team-season-1-deployment-preview/
Leave Angel alone! He can do whatever he wants.
Even I know this character isn’t he same. Booth wasn’t a jack ass
Jason & Booth would have a drink at the bar together to discuss military experiences that’s the only similarity, they are not the same at all. Jason is more gritter, darker, closed off & suffering from PTSD. I find his character really intriguing as each episode go by but he is still a bit of an enigma and I love how Jason has his team back, no matter what. Last episode David Boreanaz killed it in the break up scene with his ex-wife. Wow. So good.

Sorry Matt, didn’t log out!
Matt, I have a general question. Are questions only viable in the week that they’re sent to you? Do you ever keep some back if they can potentially be answered at a later point, or do you put the Inside Line post together based on the questions that were sent and the information that you have for only that particular week?
Homeland’s opening didn’t disappoint! Any word on when Billions comes back??
https://tvline.com/2018/01/06/the-affair-season-4-premiere-date-billions-im-dying-up-here-showtime/
I can’t believe OUAT is coming to an end! We got to a great end point with 7A, and now all we have left is the 12 episodes of 7B. I hope they knock us for a loop, make our heads spin with a closing we will never forget!
Funny about Seal Team. At the beginning of the year it was all about Jason and Alanna’s marriage and their execs said it was about keeping their marriage strong. Now we have him getting a new love interest. hopefully not Pare’s character, she is a bland Brennan knock off. Hopefully the changes that are coming will make the show better
I have no interest in a love interest for Jason. That is a boring story. The trials of being married to a SEAL had some interest. It didn’t need to be the forefront, certainly not all the time, but to just toss it to the side and for him to suddenly have a love interest while still married. Yuck. Just yuck.
Jason’s wife has left him and doesn’t want to be his wife anymore. They have been separated for months, over a year at least. They are getting divorced. It happens, marriages break. And people move on.
Just because Jason may get a love interest doesn’t mean it will go beyond someone being interested in him or him simply rebuffing them. Love interest doesn’t always mean full blown relationship. It can simply mean testing the water to see if they are moving on or need more time….Quite frankly the way Alana was treating Jason, keeping him in limbo made me feel bad for him and their kids, it wasn’t healthy. So I glad they have decided to do *something* make it or break it
I agree that seeing the Jason/Alana marriage be tested and survive would have been a much more interesting story. I don’t need to see Jason’s love-life, especially while he’s still married, as you point out. So sorry they are going down this road.
Disappointed about House of Cards not keeping Neve Campbell around. Her introduction in the fourth season reinvigorated my interest in the show but now I’m completely done. Hopefully the sixth season isn’t as redundant as the past seasons so the fans sticking it out till the end can get a satisfying finish.

They really need to get this casting together for the new Sabrina show. If the earliest they hope to release season 1 is this fall and they only have two people cast? Roberto, call up Leslie Grossman for one of the aunts! She’d kill it! And I really hope this isn’t another run of the mill teen supernatural drama. The comic series is DARK and I hope they stick to that. And PLEASE have it set in the 1960s, like the comics, it adds to the atmosphere and takes away some resources the characters would have in the present day (i.e. technology).
Have you heard any scoop on The Brave coming back?
TVLINE’s world-famous Renewal Scorecard is linked atop every TVLINE page in yellow.
“The Middle” has been one of my favorite shows since it premiered. Whereas other shows its age (i.e. Modern Family) lose their appeal after a few years, “The Middle” has been consistently fresh and funny. I will miss it.
Here is a plea: When you post pictures, could you please add somewhere the names of the actors and their shows? If I see something that looks interesting, it is so frustrating not to have anywhere to go to find out more info. Thanks!
Hey Scott. Let me answer because his answer is totally bogus. There are for sure plans and meetings happening so stay tuned. Adam
I wish/hope this is true. Watched the backdoor pilot last night and it was really charming.
Does anybody know around when the second season of Tangled is goin to air on Disney Channel?
Once Upon a Time ending is almost sad….if it had ended at the end of last season, that would have been appropriate enough.
But we had just got to a point where I was feeling a little invested in the characters, hopefully they get a decent enough wrap up.
I blame the awfulness of Cinderella for this.
Really tried to like the new season, but only watched about 2.5 episodes. Cinderella was a miscast for sure. They needed a different actress and better storyline in my opinion. The Original OUAT was great till the end, but Hyperion was disappointing.
