If the just-released trailer for Nancy Drew‘s fourth and final season is any indication, our girl is in way over her red head this time.
According to The CW, “Season 4 begins as Nancy launches a new investigation to find a group of missing bodies from Horseshoe Bay’s cemetery that have been dug up and stolen — or have possibly risen. As Nancy is drawn into this ghostly case, a string of unexplained paranormal crimes leads the Drew Crew to believe that the literal sins of the town’s past have returned to haunt the living.”
As always, though, the Drew Crew’s supernatural shenanigans are only half of the drama. In the romance department, “Nancy struggles with yearning for Ace, the man she loves. But when a slow-burning attraction begins between Nancy and the son of Ryan Hudson’s newest enemy, Nancy must decide whether this love interest is worth the ire of both her father and Ace — whose own heart may be tempted by a new relationship too.”

So they COMPLETELY erased Nancy & Ned, huh?
That was only a thing in season one, and early season one at that. George has been Ned/Nick’s main love interest since the later part of the first season.
Yeah. But I thought they’d circle back. It’s the biggest reason I stopped watching the show. I didn’t care that he was a person of color. But I don’t know why they changed something fundamental to the story. Just write your own thing at this point with completely different characters
I agree! I enjoyed their romance and thought it would circle back, but nope they both moved on for really no reason! Grrrr.
I watch some of season 1 and I enjoyed Nancy and Nick together too. They had WAY MORE chemistry than Nancy and Ace. Plus it was nice to have a healthy interracial relationship between a black male and white female characters on a CW show. Of course knowing the network it didn’t last as they pandered to Ace shippers on social media Her whole star crossed relationship with Ace is so forced.
They didn’t ERASE Nancy and Ned. As Nancy and NICK were written and cast in the show, the relationship just didn’t work (either in the writing or for the viewers) and ran its course organically. Good TV show writing is following the chemistry of the characters, and while some people obviously prefer the Nancy/Nick chemistry, a lot of viewers didn’t. If you’re diehard Nancy and Ned there is plenty of material about them in other Nancy adaptations. (Also, standing theory is that Ace, her new LI, is a Hardy boy, so that does tie into NDverse canon)
They did erase Nancy and Nick. And they did work as a couple with chemistry. Most casual viewers had no problem with them. It was Ace fan girls and shippers being loud and vocal on social media the writers decided to pander
I like all the actors on the show but Kennedy McMann has no chemistry with Tunji Kasim, you can see her working over time when she shares any close scenes with him in season 1. She just seems to be more relax with Alex Saxon. Oh Ace has chemistry with everyone!
How was she working overtime in their romantic scenes with Nick? You must been looking at a different show LOL Kennedy/Nancy sure looked comfortable with Tunji/Nick in love scenes. Maybe others claiming no chemistry didn’t like seeing Nancy paired with a black male character romantically
I was never a huge fan of Nancy and Ned as a couple. I think I attribute that to the fact that they were already mostly together at the beginning of the show and that they portrayed it is largely casual. We were given none of the build-up, or a real understanding why these two characters were together in the first place.
Even their breakup was mostly just shrugged off and both characters just moved on.
I figured given enough time they would probably swing back to them as a couple. But I am kind of behind a Nancy/Ace pairing at this point. I like it.
Oh please. That’s a head canon at best, and Ace had more chemistry with Bess.
Cw seems to like changing canon couples, Kara and Jimmy, Oliver and Laurel, Elena and Stefan the list goes on.

Big smile. This was such a fun show. Hoping for that lawyer show but it would never have such a strong cast as Nancy Drew,
SO EXCITED that this excellent show is back! Do I understand why the trailer is only 24 seconds long? No. No, I do not, but I’ll watch it over and over anyway.
Did the Good Lawyer pilot get picked up?
Cannot wait. I love this show. It should’ve gotten at least five seasons, but I’m glad there are some new episodes to look forward to.
Hopefully they wrapped the show up so there is no loose ends. I want a proper ending.
