Leverage: Redemption: The Con Is (Back) On in First Revival Teaser — Plus, Get IMDb TV Premiere Date
The Grifter, the Hitter, the Hacker and the Thief are joined by a Fixer and a Maker in the first teaser for IMDb TV’s Leverage: Redemption revival series.
As announced on Monday at Amazon’s first NewFronts presentation, Leverage: Redemption will premiere on IMDb TV (Amazon Prime’s free streaming service) Friday, July 9, with the first of eight episodes; another eight episodes will follow in the fall.
In this new iteration of TNT’s five-season caper drama, the Leverage crew — grifter Sophie Devereaux (played by Gina Bellman), thief Parker (Beth Riesgraf), hitter Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane), and hacker Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge) — have watched the world change over the last eight years. Since their last job, it’s become easier (and sometimes legal) for the rich to become richer and the powerful to squash anyone who gets in their way.
To address the changes in the world around them, the team finds new blood in Harry Wilson (Falling Skies‘ Noah Wyle), a corporate lawyer who is looking for redemption after realizing he’d been sitting on the wrong side of the table for his entire career, and Breanna Casey (Aleyse Shannon of The CW’s Charmed), Hardison’s foster sister who has a knack for computers, robotics… and getting into trouble.
Guest stars for Season 1 of the revival, meanwhile, include Buffyverse vet James Marsters as a slick country club hustler who uses his conning of wealthy members to fund a much darker criminal enterprise.
IMDb TV is Amazon’s free streaming service, on which you can currently watch the original Leverage series.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Amazon will be airing this in Canada, as IMDb TV is not available.
All of the old seasons are on Amazon. I am surprised (but happy) that they managed to get Aldis Hodge for the revival, as he has been very busy lately. Series would not be the same without Hardison.
Alex Rider is IMDB TV in the US and Prime in Canada. This will probably be the same.

adding more crossed fingers for Amazon Prime Canada to air nuLeverage since we can’t get IMDB tv. I would also like them to actually make OG leverage seasons 3, 4, and 5 available on Prime — I’ve only ever had access to 1 and 2 (though I am partly being lazy here since I have 1-4 on DVD.)
my first thought was the fear I’d miss out just like I did on the psych2 movie which I would buy in a heartbeat if they’d make it available anywhere but peacock since we can’t get that either.

I’d like to see kari matchett as maggie and mark sheppard as sterling again only I’m not sure that would make sense without Nate.
and of course if we’re pulling from the leverage and librarians roster it would be amazing to see john harlan kim.
I’d love to see Maggie & Shepard too, don’t think Nate needs to be there as they interacted with the whole OG cast.

I’m curious what Hardison’s sister’s role as the Maker will be for the team.
Just a guess but I suspect her role will be to take over for Harrison if this gets extended beyond one season.
As noted, Aldis Hodge is very busy these days and after this go-round might be available only for occasional drop-ins.

While I’m sad to be missing Nate, the trailer alone looks and feels like classic Leverage. Can’t wait to watch this in July!!!
Just not the same without Nate Ford. Wonder if they are killing off his character? Aosl, wonder if they’ll tell us or use Sophie’s real name since Nate isn’t around?

YES YES YES!!! I was so sad when the original show ended! I always hoped they would do a revival! AND HERE IT IS!!! I am so HYPED!! Leverage for me is easily 1 of my TOP 5 shows of all time! I really hope this will not be a 1 and done season. Hopefully they will have many more seasons to come!! I read Aldis Hodge is only in 4 episodes because of the pandemic and all his other commitments. If they do get more seasons hopefully he will be in them!
