Disney+ had a surprise in its quiver for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans on Monday: a full-length trailer for its upcoming Hawkeye series.
Though the team-up of Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop was previously teased in an episodic photo back in July, the above trailer offers a more detailed preview of their relationship, which begins when Barton unmasks Kate as a headline-making hooded vigilante. Described as “equally as annoying as she is charismatic,” Kate “will bring about a slew of problems that Barton will then have to wrestle with,” the logline describes.
The events of Hawkeye were previously teased in a post-credits scene during the Marvel film Black Widow, in which — spoiler alert! — Yelena Belova (played by Florence Pugh) was offered the opportunity to hunt down Barton, aka the man responsible for the death of Yelena’s sister, Natasha Romanoff. (We have to admit, though: We’re more focused on the Steve Rogers-centric Broadway musical teased in the trailer. So many questions!)
Hawkeye premieres Wednesday, Nov. 24. It will be Disney+’s fourth live-action Marvel Studios series, following WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki, the last of which has been formally renewed for a second season.

OK. I know that Hawkeye is one of the “lesser” Avengers (according to my daughter), but I love him. I think this has the potential to be very funny. I cannot wait. And yes. I NEED more answers to the Steve Rodgers musical. Many Many Answers.
Have her read Avengers Disassembed and Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye.
will do and thanks for the recommendation!
I would skip Avengers Disassembled (spoiler: that’s the one where Wanda goes insane and kills Hawkeye and Ant-Man); not really worth reading because it’s pretty out of character and only serves to set up subsequent comics.
I second the recommendation for Matt Fraction and David Aja’s Hawkeye. I recommend reading Young Avengers first. Also recommend reading Hawkeye: Kate Bishop by Kelly Thompson and Leonardo Romero.
Yeah, you’re right, that storyline is awful. In all sorts of ways.
They better do like The Boys and give us a music video of that production number in its entirety after the fact!!
I forgot there was a Captain America musical they almost produced in the 80’s. Saw ads for casting in comic books. Never happened. Some sites are picking up on that and mentioning it. So it’s back again for the first time!
This looks really awesome. Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld make quite the team. Super excited about this one.
Very excited for this as I love Kate Bishop from the comics.
Giving me John McClane Die Hard vibes. I’m into it
Another Christmas classic, like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon (and Iron Man 3!) and the rest.
.
I keep forgetting when these trailers come out that they’re on TV! I was like “why is TVLine covering this…Oh yeah, that’s right….”
.
(OK maybe Iron Man 3 isn’t exactly a classic…..)
“(OK maybe Iron Man 3 isn’t exactly a classic…..)”
.
It is compared to Iron Man 2…..
.
This looks like fun though, which (IMO) has been lacking from the MCU TV shows thus far compared to the movies.
Turn out that the Steve Rodgers musical is really one full blow Xmas Disney plus special!
That’s clearly an Avengers Broadway musical, not a Steve Rogers-centric. Just because he happens to be in the center of the dance number doesn’t make him centric…
.
Also, I completely want to see that whole number/show lol
Ummm … it IS a Steve Rodgers centric show. Yes, the Avengers are in it (Umm … they’re in his life, aren’t they???) But if you look at the marquis, it says “RODGERS, the musical”
I didn’t notice till I got to watch it on TV…it’s a SPARKLELY marquis too. :-)
I’m even more excited to see this now! Looks great!
Finally Hawkeye gets a little more respect from Marvel. Renner is very good at this lighter action/comedy stuff. And Hailee Steinfeld constantly surprises me with the roles she takes. But it always turns out good! She’s very underrated!
I don’t see Linda Cardellini anywhere; did Hawkeye get divorced?
Clint calls home in the trailer. He still has a wife.
Marvel + Die Hard = you had me at hello.
The trailer looks great. Can’t wait.
What a very boring trailer.
Matches with Barton being very boring.
Kate Bishop should’ve had her own origin show.
“How I became Hawkeye without Hawkeye….”
.
I guess that’s one way to go.
Weird how a lot of the early music in the trailer kept making me wait for someone to say “Space, the final frontier….”
It’s cool, she was up the role of Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games movie, but of course the rest is history and the role went to JLaw. (It actually came down to either her or JLaw and Lionsgate went with the latter).
So, cool to see her with a bow and arrow haha.
