We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about lotsa shows including The Patient, The Bachelorette, What We Do in the Shadows, Dancing With the Stars!
1 | Is it almost distracting how sweaty the Blood & Treasure actors clearly (and truly) have been during these location shoots in Thailand?
2 | Were you a bit shocked that House of the Dragon killed off the ominous (and icky-looking) Crabfeeder in its third episode? And was it jarring to meet a character named simply Jason? Or does it make sense, being from the same Lannister house as eventually Jaime? (Were they not cc’d on the realm’s baby naming book?)
3 | Yes, the pandemic has caused many of us to work from home for a while. But did Today really feel that these incredibly basic “tips” were necessary to highlight, much less make a graphic for? “Bring food?” Seriously?
4 | Does Grey’s Anatomy‘s Season 19 trailer give off serious Scrubs Season 9 vibes?
5 | After The Bachelorette‘s Rachel said some form of the L-word to all three of her remaining men, does she kind of owe Clayton an apology? And how mad must ABC be that Gabby picked her final guy Erich in an anticlimactic hotel room talk, with two episodes still left to go?
6 | Is The Patient‘s Candace immediately in the running for the worst mother on TV?
7 | As wonderful as What We Do in the Shadows is, did what Guillermo said almost ring too true for you? That, in fact, nothing on the show (single Nandor, Colin Robinson, the nightclub was a failure…) ever really changes?
8 | The Masked Singer’s Ken Jeong was totally wearing this when he arrived on set and refused to take it off, right?
9 | Perhaps the most burning question heading into the final phase of the MasterChef finale: Will all four of Christian’s fillets be a perfect medium rare? Or did he biff the one thicker fillet?
10 | Doesn’t Superman & Lois‘ new Jonathan, Michael Bishop, look more like he could be Jordan’s twin?
11 | Is DC’s Stargirl Season 3 thus far overestimating how much time we want to spend with the adults talking/strategizing/bickering (e.g. a whole cold open about The Gambler moving into his trailer home?), versus hang out with the JSA kids?
12 | Assuming The Goldbergs‘ Season 10 key art is meant to represent a framed photo collage in Beverly’s home, what are the chances there’s a photo of dearly departed Murray tucked behind Lucky the Dog? And do you expect to see any photos of Jeff Garlin’s character hanging around the house, or will they all hang on a nonexistent fourth wall — ya know, the same wall the Conners use to hang photos of Roseanne?
13 | Is Dancing With the Stars‘ Season 31 lineup… actually kinda great? And which was the bigger surprise on the roster: that seven contestants are 50+ years old, or that Wayne Brady has somehow not competed on this show before?
14 | As noted by TVLine reader Alyssa, was it a bit ironic that Days of Our Lives‘ second-to-last NBC episode was preempted by breaking news — something that will no longer happen to it as a streaming program?
15 | Do you think She-Hulk‘s dating profile lists her as a “BBW”? When those demons first flew out of that portal, did you think “demobats!”? And after No Way Home, Doctor Strange 2 and now Donny Blaze, can we agree that sling rings need to be much more carefully inventoried?
16 | To look at the trailer, NBC’s Quantum Leap revival is going to have us ‘shipping Ben and the hologram of his love back home during his leaps, isn’t it? In fact, we already are!
17 | Did Hulu’s confirmation that its adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Testaments is in active development soften the blow of The Handmaid’s Tale coming to an end?
18 | Big Brother fans, for a few seconds there, didn’t it seem like Michael’s pre-eviction speech might be the first one ever to actually flip votes at the last minute?

Re “Days of Our Lives”: In my area, when a daytime NBC show is pre-empted (by news or a sporting event), they re-run it late at night.
Not in my area – at least not that I’ve noticed or seen advertised. :/ Won’t matter now anyway but was a shame one of the final ones was preempted though definitely understandable.
I remember this. And during major sporting events, they would run several days episodes during late night and run the chyron for a week before announcing the special time.
10. Yes.
.
11. Yes. Although we do need the narrative to make the kids’ actions make sense.
10. Meh. I just figured they were fraternal twins. My brother are twins and look nothing alike.
I quit House of Dragons, its very dull and not as edgy as GoT, even the big battle was meh, its nothing new
Glad I’m not the only one thinking this. I’ll still finish the season, but it’s definitely no GoT. That last battle was predictable and the plot armor on Daemon was through the roof. The politics are okay, but it’s missing something now that it’s just the Targaryans.
Thank god theres a jon snow series coming
Seriously? Jon was one of the dullest characters in GOT. Tyrion spinoff or nothing.
I agree, not edgy at all! Needs more characters too.
16. Did you pay attention to the trailer? They made it clear that the 2 are a couple in 2022 and he can’t remember it
Of course they watched the trailer, silly rabbit.
.
The question agrees they are a couple, but to take it a step further, the leaps will be more bittersweet between the two, because of his Swiss cheese brain.
.
Now take a seat and take in a breath and learn to relax. You sound wound up.
To be the big bad, crabfeeder was just standing around looking like a glorified extra. The death was equally uneventful.
7. Very much so, this season has (IMO) been poor compared to the previous ones and we’re now right back to where we were at the start.
.
15. Also seems very weird that (although we haven’t seen Mordo-Prime since Doctor Strange) that a magic wielder like that wouldn’t have been on his list before a guy who just healed his own injuries.
11: Not at all! I really enjoyed the Gambler-centric cold open and how much fun the actor was clearly having. It also seems extremely unlikely that one of the teen characters is responsible for killing the Gambler, so spending more time investigating the adults makes sense. And one of the best parts of the whole Stargirl series is how well they use the parents and grown-up characters. Like, I’m never going to complain about a scene with The Shade, or Tigress and Barbara talking about parenting, or Sportsmaster trying to be buddies with Pat. In fact Sportsmaster has shown a much more genuine interest in being friends with Pat than Starman ever has. And I’m excited to see how that plays out over the season
Agreed 100%! It doesn’t take away from the kids (who have their own great stories as well) to give this space to the adults.
10 My husband looks nothing like his twin brother.
10 | I thought the two original actors could definitely be twins but you’re right. The new Jonathan is even closer to twinage.
13 | I may have to watch now thanks to this cast. I’m really interested in seeing Shangela dance with a dude while in drag. That is amazing.
7. regarding what we do in the shadows, the ride getting back to the same old same old was so good that I don’t mind if we see them reset it all.
I don’t think Guillermo will get what he wants so it’ll be interesting to see how they handle season 5. I’d love moee of his life outside the house though. That was really interesting.
I feel like it could be like Always Sunny and have many more seasons.
I was thinking that after a season of vampire Guillermo he’ll want to change back and Nandor will use one of his wishes (and constantly remind Guillermo what he gave up for him) or that Guillermo can’t be turned because of his Van Helsingborg blood
I didn’t think about the genie thing (it’s been a bit vague on how many wishes Nandor has left, hasn’t it?) but I did wonder the same thing about his hunter blood.
What’s the status of David Koechner. Multiple DUI arrest. Not sure he’ll be back on the Goldbergs
It looks like he is touring for his comedy right now; at least he was in St. Louis this week.
13 – Best DWTS season in a while. Super excited for Wayne Brady!
On Resident Alien, why did the Greys bother stop time and tell Harry that they were going to destroy him instead of, you know, just destroying him?
Regarding #2, you seem to be forgetting about the Argonautica. Jason is actually a classic name for someone in a fantasy epic. It’s also a Biblical name (so again an epic fantasy tale ;) ), with Jason of Thessalonica.
