The CW’s programming certainly hasn’t lacked variety over the years: The next quartet duking it out in our bracket tourney hails from West Covina, California, the Big Apple, Starling City… and the literal end of the world.
In honor of The CW’s 15-year anniversary on Sept. 18, TVLine’s tournament to crown the network’s Best Show Ever continues with more battles in the round of 32. Next up: Arrow faces off against Ringer, while The 100 is matched up against Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
But what does our bracket look like so far? Scroll down to see the current standings; click to enlarge. (Seedings were based on our initial vote-in poll and in turn arranged college basketball bracket-style.)
UPDATE: The below polls are officially closed, with Arrow and The 100 moving on to the Sweet 16. Click here to vote in our next two match-ups, featuring All American vs. Hart of Dixie and Gossip Girl vs. The Secret Circle.
Arrow all the way! And The 100 had that crappy ending and I loved Crazy Ex GirlFriend one of the most unique and fun comedies ever in the history of tv!
Ringer started off good, but it jumped the rails into horrible too quickly. I had high hopes for the show but Jeebus it tanked hard.
Arrow and The 100 (and anyone that pronounces that “The Hundred” gets a Gibbs-slap…it’s “The One Hundred”
The show is pronounced “The Hundred”
Then they are wrong. I’ve actually heard it called “The One Hundred” by others in the industry.
Plus the premise of the show was one hundred people going to Earth. Not “hundred” with being grammatically incorrect, doesn’t specify exactly how many (it could be any # in the hundred range).
The show its self calls it “The Hundred”
“Previously on The Hundred.”
How are these matches getting picked? Why is Ringer going up against Arrow? How is that fair?
Makes sense to me actually in terms of March Madness. 1 vs 16 style!
yeah that’s always the way these start out. someone has to “play” the little guys! looking around I can see where it will soon get interesting, curious if Smallville eventually beats TVD.
This was probably randomized. It doesn’t matter anyway, the show that is going to win the contest would end up winning the contest anyway.
I asked a similar question when Superman and Lois went up against Stargirl. The explanation they now give is: “Seedings were based on our initial vote-in poll and in turn arranged college basketball bracket-style”. So I presume it follows the rules of the NCAA brackets.
I feel like it should have been split into sections like SciFi/Fantasy, Superhero, Comedy, and Drama and each pair be based on length of show. And then have the 4 winners of those categories go head to head like SciFi/Fantasy vs. Superhero and Comedy vs. Drama. Then have the winners of those categories go head to head with each other. But we all know Supernatural is going to win. I mean a 15 season run, huge fandom, and hot actors. That said, my personal fav of these is Smallville. I grew up on that show.
I mean cw, had around 6 sitcoms over the years, and 2 dramas if you count jane and crazy ex.
It’s been basically tween girl dramas then bad cw comic book (dc comic) shows.
So girl dramas vs comic book dramas probably would of been more accurate
Pete, you dismissive little pompass.
Seeded by the # of votes from the first round of voting that included all the series.
They should’ve shown the seeding numbers
There was an earlier series of polls that determined the bracket. It says so in the articles above the polls.
It seems like the one and does should first compete against each other before moving into competition with flagship shows like Arrow.
Of the one and dones, Ringer was easily one the best.
Exactly!
The 100!
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is hands down the best show on the CW, but it unfortunately won’t do well on these polls because it’s not popular.
It got my vote. Which, I loved The 100 too, but certain seasons were better than others. When it was fire, it was fire… but the AI storyline season and the final season brought down it’s average for me. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was most on fire in season 3, but it was consistently good even when not at its best. Also RIP Adam Schlesinger.
It got my vote, too. I’d go further and say not just one of the best CW shows, but one of the best television sitcoms of the past decade.
I stopped watching arrow about season 5 ish but those first 3 seasons were amazing……especially season 2
Never watched Ringer
Ive seen a few episodes of The 100 but never seen any episodes of Crazy Ex Girlfriend so I guess 100 gets my vote
Agree…first three seasons of Arrow and even the Flash were awesome.
I hope Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin do better than I think they will. Both were incredibly fun shows that should have been 1000x more popular than they were.
Well, if we’re going off of pure critical acclaim and award recognition. JTV and CxG are the two greatest CW shows of all time and no CW show will ever reach those heights.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is 100% the best show that the CW produced(not counting anything brought over from WB days). I love JtV too but I feel like Jane the Virgin kinda fell off in later seasons with the whole bringing back the dead husband for a really bad plotline and Jane herself kinda losing the plot of who Jane was. But Crazy Ex-Girlfriend always had a strong clear message of “this is Rebecca’s story and her arc, and the love interest are there to really show different sides of who she is”
And don’t forget Rebecca’s awesome girl posse!
My two favorites, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and The 100 against each other in round one. Ugh
I stuck with Ringer way too long, almost to the end of the season, and it was really terrible by that point.
Arrow, so great most of the time, wins in a no-contest.
I never saw the other two shows, so no vote here, but 100 is definitely on my binge list.
I was 10 years old when Arrow first came out and when I was old enough to watch it it was at the beginning of season five and then onwards.
100 v crazy ex has been the toughest pair so far . Mount weather and lexa made me finally give the vote to the 100.
What they did to Lexa made me go for Crazy Ex Girlfriend. The 100 had so much potential and it ended up unwatchable by the end for me.
They didn’t do anything, she quit to go work on fear the waking dead.
Ringer over ARROW all the way.
Arrow was 6 seasons too long.
Ringer was entertaining from beggining to end.
Wish Ringer could be up against something else in round 1. Had to go with Arrow. Crossing my fingers so hard for Crazy Ex, first time I’m nervous about if the ‘right’ show will win.
Ringer was on for only one season. It ended on a cliffhanger. Arrow has been on for how many years?
There’s no way Ringer could win this contest.
Why would you compare two shows that are such different genres? That doesn’t make sense to me.
Never watched Crazy Ex Girlfriend or the 100 but heard of them both. Went with the 100 since it seemed like the cooler show out of that pairing
Arrow & CxG.
I’ve seen most of the shows in this whole contest and the 100 is easily one of their best ever. Ok the final season wasn’t peak but when it was good it was epic. I enjoyed the series as a whole very much. whether it can win against historic shows like smallville (an all time fav) or gossip girl which I think will go far… also ringer was an awesome show too that had a lot more potential. surely one of the cw’s biggest regrets seeing as it got more viewers than their most watched show right now lol
Ahhw the ringer since that boat scene in the first episode I call all bad CGI a ringer moment. Because I could see the green screen used for that scene it was terrible.
The best show is the 100 and the clexa ship is so strong they were like a power couple clark was one of the best characters and lexa they made the show better and when they found a way to travel to different plants the show is just amazing and if u don’t believe me go watch it
The100 is the best show and there is no doubt about it and the way the clexa ship impacts so many people lives it’s just an amazing show
