We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about lotsa shows including Bridgerton, 9-1-1, Chicago Fire and The Bear!
1 | Historically speaking, Queen Charlotte‘s titular monarch dies before Edward and Victoria’s daughter is born. Given their baby news in the finale, does that mean her death is imminent? Do you think we’ll see her pass in Bridgerton Season 3?
2 | Why doesn’t the Silo keep the Freedom Day slide installed on the spiral staircase at all times, for quick excursions down several levels? (After all, it’s not mechanized, as forbidden by The Pact.)
3 | Is Fire Country‘s casting of Jeff Fahey as Billy Burke’s dad TV’s best parent/child casting of 2023 so far? Meanwhile, what was Bode’s plan to make the planted drugs “disappear” by (pretty conspicuously) smashing them with a rock in the woods?
4 | Rava, Nate, Gil…. Did this week’s Succession have you looking up the Season 1 cast list to remember some of these characters? And we appreciate the drama and all, but isn’t it taking an awfully long time to bury Logan Roy?
5 | What do you think happened to The Company You Keep‘s Connor? And were you surprised Charlie’s ex-fiancée (played by Bridget Regan) didn’t show up in a last-minute twist?
6 | On NCIS: Los Angeles, why did no parking garage sprinklers (ever) turn on after Callen shot at the van’s gas tank to make it explode? And did you have to laugh when all of those background agents magically appeared, after Fatima alerted everyone to the situation in Kilbride’s office?
7 | First, HBO Max goes and releases Love & Death less than a year after Hulu’s Candy, now Netflix is releasing Painkiller less than two years after Hulu’s Dopesick…. Should heads of programming maybe get together and make sure they’re not greenlighting almost the exact same show?
8 | Given the positive buzz that The Bear accrued after its first season, are you sorta shocked the show is sticking with a binge release for Season 2, rather than rolling out weekly episodes/maximizing watercooler buzz?
9 | Is anyone else hoping that Lucy’s surprise appearance on this week’s 9-1-1 leads to a more permanent return for Arielle Kebbel’s character?
10 | Did Lopez vs. Lopez undercut its dramatic finale, focused on George’s alcoholism, by ending on a “California sober” punchline? And here’s a question we never thought we’d ask: What is 62-year-old George Lopez’s haircare routine and how is he maintaining so much volume?
11 | Would Gotham Knights‘ reveal of the Court of Owls’ leader been a bit more surprising if there had been a second adult male on the show with facial hair?
12 | As TVLine reader Jo asks: In the trailer for Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, how is the cuddly mogwai’s name “Gizmo” when it was Billy who gave him that name 60 years later?
13 | On Ted Lasso, how was Colin of all people not aware that the print version of Oprah Winfrey’s O magazine had ceased publication in 2020? (Are we sure he’s really gay?) And how is Nate just realizing that Rupert is a womanizer? (Did he not already see his boss in close proximity to his assistant Ms. Kakes at the end of Episode 4, during their last visit to Bones & Honey? And weren’t Rupert’s myriad affairs while he was still married to Rebecca well reported by the British press?)
14 | So… does anyone yet understand The Flash‘s “resurrected Eddie” storyline? And did Daniele Nicolet get injured IRL, that Cecile was suddenly in an arm sling mid-episode?
15 | Does Chicago Med‘s Hannah/Archer/Sean situation feel too similar to the Crockett/Pamela/Avery storyline?
16 | Chicago Fire‘s Brett is totally gonna adopt that abandoned baby, right?
17 | Chicago P.D. fans, what do you make of Upton removing her ring? Is she finally letting go of Halstead?
18 | Survivor fans: Was that one of the most (unintentionally?) entertaining Tribal Councils we’ve had in a long time? And if you had to give Danny’s De Niro face a grade, what would it be?
19 | Was the T-Birds’ emotional embrace on Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies the sweetest group hug of the season?
20 | How did the Titans go a whole season without giving their tricked-out RV any cooler of a name than “the RV”? And why was there any need to strip Conner and put him in a hospital gown?
21 | As TVLine reader Flysafely pointed out, why didn’t Walker‘s Stella and Sadie back out of the house and call the police as soon as they saw that there was a break-in? And did you sense a vibe between Cassie and Trey at the wedding?
22 | Seeing how well Sam Page sparks with Camilla Luddington, does any Grey’s Anatomy fan not wish that the show had cast him as a doctor who could stick around rather than a patient who can’t possibly?
23 | On Law & Order: Organized Crime, why didn’t Rollins just email Stabler and Benson her profile of the Shadowërk creator, rather than show up in person at a bloody crime scene to recite it aloud?
24 | Did Next Level Chef drum up enough dramaaaaa surrounding Chris’ ajar oven door to fuel an entire season of 9-1-1: Lone Star?
25 | Are we to believe Young Sheldon‘s Georgie couldn’t ID his own sister from Meemaw’s living room window, when he and Dale thought they’d eyed the culprits behind the gambling room break-in?
26 | Ghosts finale spoiler ahead! As much as you may hope that none of the primary ghosts got [Spoiler]’d, wouldn’t it be a bit of a cheat if it turns out to just be a basement or attic ghost? And would the Four Seasons really covet a rural property in Upstate New York?

9. Is this a genuine question? ‘Cause the answer is a resounding “No”!!!!!
26. No
LOL. Yeah, that character didn’t really bring anything to the show and was not well-liked. She had potential but they fumbled the bag by writing her just for Buck cheating drama. They brought her back just for him too so I’m not optimistic they’d do squat anything different next time around.
Definitely no!
I’ve liked her in other roles, but her character doesn’t work on this show at all.
I feel like they know the answer to that question better than any other entertainment site, based on what their comment sections looked like during her episodes 🤣
True dat.
I really like Lucy and was happy to see her return in the last episode. Wouldn’t mind an occasional visit from her.
A HUGE resounding “NO”. I can’t believe we have to have her being the “she-ro” to save the firefam in the finale 🙄🙄🙄 We can’t see Madney go to couples therapy but don’t worry we have time for her to cry out “cap” again like she’s on a soap opera. I’ve never seen her in anything else but I’ve seen people who enjoy her other work even saying she AWFUL in this role. Hopefully ABC has better taste.
Chicago Fire
I hope not. The Chicago shows have over done the adoption storyline.
Yeah, on Chicago Fire, with a paramedic (Gabby and Louie)
Cruz also adopted.
25. Yeah, How did Georgie not recognize his own sister running down the street?
I was okay with it…because she was with the new girl. Georgie had never seen or met the new girl next door. I would have found it hard to believe if either Missy was alone or if Georgie already knew about the new girl on the block. Plus, Georgie and Dale were feeding each other’s paranoia…so not recognizing MIssy seemed reasonable to me. Now….the entire church putting in money to send Sheldon away for the summer seemed WAY harder to believe for me. He doesn’t even go there anymore. Why would they care? The professors, yes, I believe completely that they would chip in real money.
The people at church doesn’t like Sheldon anyway, and were obviously thrilled that he was going to Germany.
18 – Survivor – C for Cringe
Cam we retire the phrase watercooler buzz? I agree that The Bear should roll out weekly, but are we honestly talking about the show in person, rather than online? Also, your work provides a watercooler? Lucky you!
It’s… just a saying. –Mgmt.
I had to explain it to a younger coworker (I’m in my late 30s), and even I never actually had a a water cooler. Time comes for all of us.
#9 lololol no, Lucy is awful.
21. I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve been getting a vibe from Cassie and Trey all season.
So have I. Has that not been obvious to everyone else?
Yes, it has been obvious.
#26: I don’t care if it’s a cheat/cop-out. I’ll take it. I don’t need or want that kind of dramatic shock with this show, it’s not that kind of show. Plus, it’d be a funny way to kick off next season, with everyone making the moment seem so dramatic only for it to not involve a primary ghost and for everyone to be like, “Okay, well, that’s that, then, moving on.” :D.
One of the ghosts isn’t around and everyone thinks they are gone so they get sad and eulogizes them, and then that ghost walks in like “what’s everyone upset about?”
Hahaha YES! Exactly :D.
I immediately assumed it was a trap door to cover the unexpected departure of any cast member who either isn’t available for the next season, or tries to reopen their contract.
I couldn’t agree more! The show can be truly moving, but losing one of the ghosts…I’d be *distraught*. I hope that doesn’t happen.
I kind of think it will be Nigel. He is not really one of the main ghosts, but he is always around.
Succession is a day at a time plot this season. So in actuality it’s only been two days or so.
13) I think Nate’s realization was less that Rupert is a philandering playboy, and more that he had absolutely no qualms about forcing that lifestyle on Nate too.
This! Nate (and the world) already knows Rupert is a cheater. He was just surprised that Rupert expected him to be a cheater too. Also, I think he was realizing that his highly anticipated boy’s night was just a bait and switch.
100%
It was the disregard for Nate’s relationship that upset him and made him leave.
I think that Rupert doesn’t like his head coach dating a restaurant hostess and that’s why he (Rupert) was trying to hook Nate up with another woman. I don’t think it had anything to do with Nate not knowing about Rupert’s philandering ways.
11. Honestly, I hadn’t given a lot of thought about who the actual people behind the Court of Owls actually were, or cared. I actually thought that would have been an interesting end to the season as the news is revealing a lot of identities, the Knights find they don’t care, they have solved Bruce’s murder and outed the Court and destroyed the Electrum and are now much more interested in serving as Robin Hood types, and if they do get a second season it starts out as just the twins and Turner because Carrie feels the need to pay attention to her real life, Stephanie might be discovering the Quizmaster stuff, and Duella might be off on her own despite the fact that she appears to actually like Turner and he might be more embracing his Narrows past. But, my main thought was, does this make any sense? I get that he might know more of Harvey’s secret than Harvey does, but why is he running against him for mayor? Just to make Harvey’s win seem legitimate? I guess that is it, and probably also why they didn’t kill Turner as both sides of Harvey seem to have a soft spot for him.
26. Its seems like, to me, that the obvious is that it was Nigel, just because that was the story that wasn’t followed up on in the episode. But, I guess it could be Stephanie or her new boyfriend, that might set off more issues next spring.
1. Maybe, I’d have to look when that actually was not to have some guess as to when all the mid season stuff was taking place. It seemed to jump around a bit, passing by Christmas, but it was not clear how long of time that was before Christmas when she had them marry and then, I would guess that they didn’t necessarily get pregnant immediately and then waited, I’d guess three months from when they were sure. So its possible that some of that stuff takes place over a few seasons of Bridgerton. There were only two times she shared scenes with Violet and Agatha and even the opera one could have been at any point. I think their story was the one that was more moving the Brigerton along.
25. Yeah, it was weird that Georgie didn’t recognize his own sister sneaking out.
Best parent/child casting: Polly Draper and Sarah Wayne Callies on The Company You Keep. Really close resemblance.
22) Charming as he may be, Sam is clearly just a stepping stone to finally getting Jo and Link together. Keeping him around longer would just be an unnecessary complication.
Agreed!
9 – I like Arielle Kebbel but she was miscast as a firefighter. Would love to see her in another supernatural show. She made a fine detective too. But 9-1-1 didn’t know what to do with her.
22 – Jo and the patient have GREAT chemistry. Better than her and Link, IMO. And I still think they shouldn’t have broken up him and Amelia, but I learned not to get too attached to couples on that show because almost all break-up (or die).
26 – Wouldn’t care if it was a cheat because I don’t want any of the main cast to leave. They all work so well together. I would be furious if it was Nigel. If cast size is a problem, just show him from time to time.
26 Agree about Nigel, I was hoping it wasn’t him who got s*cked off as they say. I would like to be a basement dweller, that would be an interesting story for next season
Lucy’s personality changed every scene depending on what person from the 118 they were using her to replace in a scene and the majority of her stuff was supposed to be about cheating with Buck so it got cut. I truly don’t know what we would need to see her coming back for. The cast is already too much for the showrunner to handle, there’s no need for another recurring character who doesn’t actually add anything to the show. They have enough background crews for the occasional appearance, and I’m fine with that.
21: Stella is the queen of bad decisions, though it seemed like she’d been growing up lately. I guess having Sadie around triggered her the wrong way, lol!
And yes, Trey and Cassie? I’m here for it (but as a slow-burn. They’re great as friends and I’d hate to see a rushed relationship mess it up.
18. Grade of A on Dinero face. But Jeff’s silence made it weird.
@Michael Ausiello: do you know when All Rise will return on OWN?
Seconding this question!
11 >> The reveal did seem a bit obvious
21 >> Yes and yes
“On Ted Lasso, how was Colin of all people not aware that the print version of Oprah Winfrey’s O magazine had ceased publication in 2020?”
–Also, when it did exist, there was almost never anyone on the cover other than Oprah.
#9: No, they are not. I am a huge Arielle Kebbel fan, and Lucy is the worst.
#9) No.
For me the bigger question on Titans was, if Brother Blood could kill all those people with his mind, why didn’t he just kill the Titans instead of fighting them?
9 | Is anyone else hoping that Lucy’s surprise appearance on this week’s 9-1-1 leads to a more permanent return for Arielle Kebbel’s character?
No.
1. Historically speaking, the British aristocracy was also not integrated, so I imagine that the show can keep Queen Charlotte alive and delighting us as long as it wants to!
5. Connor got away to plague them next season, if there is one. And yeah, I thought she would show up. Maybe next year. (Please let us have another year!)
18. The entire episode was very entertaining. I thought Danny did a HORRIBLE deNiro impression. it was stupid.
26. Unless they are keeping a huge secret, none of the main ghosts can be the ones who left or we would have heard about it. And they would be fools to let someone major go. So yeah, that leaves us with attic ghosts, or basement ghosts. OR the guy whose head was severed. He was on again for a bit. Maybe being able to have his head and body together again made him able to leave?
15- Yes. Med has by far had the creepiest/cringeworthy relationships of One Chicago.
16- That will be the cliff hanger going into Season 12. Some believe it will be a part of her leaving the show (rumors, nothing confirmed).
17- Yes. The way they have written Upstead this season, we all knew that this was eventually going to happen.
23- You can’t be serious with that one. E-mail it and lose the dramatic affect, really?
