The biggest night in wrestling has arrived!
WrestleMania 37, which took place Saturday, April 10, and Sunday, April 11, on Peacock, featured WWE’s first major live crowd since the pandemic began. 25,000 fans, who wore masks and sat in pods, gathered at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa to watch wrestling titans clash for bragging rights, big opportunities, and even a few titles.
Night 1 kicked off with an exuberant fireworks display as well as singer Bebe Rexha performing “America the Beautiful.” In the ring, a Tag Team Turmoil pitted Naomi and Lana against Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke, The Riott Squad, Natalya and Tamina, and Carmella and Billie Kay for an opportunity to challenge current Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on Night 2. Plus, recording artist Bad Bunny teamed up with Damian Priest to face The Miz and John Morrison, and Cesaro captured his first WrestleMania singles win in a hard-fought battle against Seth Rollins,
In the main event, SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair made history as the first Black women to headline WrestleMania, and their show-stopping match ended with Belair capturing the title.
Night 2 also delivered a spectacle as Intercontinental Champion Big E defended his title against Apollo Crews in a Nigerian Drum match, Raw Women’s Champion Asuka faced Rhea Ripley, and Kevin Owens took on Sami Zayn in a singles match (and delivered a stunner to Logan Paul!). The night also saw Universal Champion Roman Reigns square off against Edge and Daniel Bryan in a triple threat match during the Main Event.
