Which Freshman Shows Have Enjoyed the Best Delayed-Playback Gains?

Freshman TV Shows Cancelled Renewed

As the 2022-23 TV season slowly marches toward its end, TVLine takes fresh stock of broadcast-TV’s freshman class performance-to-date — including the handful of shows still awaiting renewal. (Updated May 17)

Among the Fall 2022 entries, CBS’ East New York and NBC’s Quantum Leap shared the title of the highest-rated series launch; CBS’ Fire Country, meanwhile, delivered the largest audience for any freshman debut. Of those three, only East New York still is in limbo.

A slew of midseason shows have since landed on the Live+7 chart, including Fox’s Farmer Wants a Wife and The CW’s Gotham Knights. (And because I know the Magnum P.I. faithful are curious, I’ve included it as a “new-to-NBC” show.)

Of the new broadcast series that have landed on the Live+7 playback table, which are enjoying the most bodacious bumps, either in their adjusted total or as a percentage gain in their preliminary numbers?

See who is leading the pack in the 18-49 demo and in total viewers, ranked both by their new Live+7 total and in percentage gains. (And as always, if you seek scoop on any of these shows, email InsideLine@tvline.com!)
