In these COVID times, more than ever, TV shows have had a tendency to go “missing” after being renewed. Let’s see if TVLine can help hunt down your MIA favorite!
The list below covers two and only two kinds of shows, so pay close attention to these guidelines:
♦ Renewed a long time ago, but it has been crickets ever since.
♦ Last aired more than seven months ago, and there is still no official word on cancellation or renewal.
This is not a Renewed/Cancelled scorecard (we have many of those). Far from it. No, this is an annual-ish status report on select shows that have been out of sight but not out of mind for their extremely patient fans.
All told, our carefully curated round-up below provides the latest word of more than two dozen “missing” shows, including critical darlings (such as Netflix’s Russian Doll, FX’s Pose and what is now Hulu’s The Orville), binge-worthy gems (like Raising Dion and Carnival Row), and basic-cable faves (such as Queen of the South and The Bold Type).
A few broadcast-TV shows even turned up among this year’s “MIA,” including Fox’s Beat Shazam (one of precious few reality shows we bothered to check up on) and CBS’ Blood & Treasure.
FYI: Shows that we learned had quietly been cancelled/are not returning (and have previously been reported as such) include High Maintenance, The Twilight Zone, What/If and At Home With Amy Sedaris.
Peruse the list below and then hit the comments and tell us which TV series you are (still!) impatiently waiting for. And if your favorite “forgotten” show isn’t featured here, be sure to check out our Broadcast, Cable and Streaming Renewal Scorecards — or email InsideLine@tvline.com to issue a BOLO!
