One needn’t know the difference between a touchdown and a turnover to enjoy the Super Bowl. For many viewers (and we suspect many a TVLine reader), it’s all about the ads.
Each year, advertisers pony up big bucks to wave their wares in front of upwards of 100 million lookie-loos (even though most commercials are now released online, ahead of the Big Game). So, who drafted famous faces to shill? And who among them delivered the biggest laughs?
Below you’ll find a curated selection of commercials that everyone will be talking about for the next 24-48 hours, featuring the stars of such iconic properties as Breaking Bad, Bridesmaids, Clueless, Grease, The Hangover, Saturday Night Live, Scary Movie, Scrubs, Succession, The White Lotus and the MCU. We’ve also included extended cuts of select ads.
Keep scrolling for our quick takes on the best and worst Game Day commercials — which we’ve playfully categorized as Touchdowns and Fumbles — then hit the comments and share your own reviews.

Touchdown: Dunkin Donuts
Image Credit: Dunkin Donuts screenshot Jennifer Lopez is shocked to see husband Ben Affleck work the drive thru — but why? Affleck runs on Dunkin!
-
Touchdown: PopCorners
Image Credit: Courtesy of Sony Pictures Television Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul‘s latest reunion plays like a lost episode of Breaking Bad — that is, if Walt and Jesse cooked up white cheddar-flavored PopCorners instead of crystal meth. Bonus points for Tuco!
-
Touchdown: Rakuten
Image Credit: Courtesy of Rakuten Who better to be a spokesperson for a shopping platform than Clueless‘ very own Cher Horowitz? (Amber?! As if!) It’s been 28 years since that iconic movie, but it feels like no time has passed when Alicia Silverstone and Elisa Donovan reprise their star-making roles.
-
Fumble: Doritos
Image Credit: Courtesy of PepsiCo/Frito-Lay North America Triangle enthusiast Jack Harlow tries (and fails) to reach the comedic heights of Saturday Night Live‘s classic cowbell sketch. The Elton John cameo is fun, though!
-
Touchdown: T-Mobile
Image Credit: Courtesy of T-Mobile Come for Bradley Cooper, stay for Bradley Cooper’s mom dragging her son for never winning an Oscar.
-
Touchdown: T-Mobile
Image Credit: Courtesy of T-Mobile T-Mobile is two for two! In their second ad, the guy love is especially strong when Scrubs‘ Zach Braff and Donald Faison accompany new neighbor John Travolta on a retooled version of Grease‘s “Summer Nights.”
-
Touchdown: Busch Beer
Image Credit: Courtesy of Busch Beer Animal activist Sarah McLachlan is a great sport for participating in this pitch-perfect sendup of her ASPCA commercial. You know the one.
-
Fumble: Avocados From Mexico
Image Credit: Courtesy of Avocados From Mexico We sure wish Anna Faris was given more to do in this Adam & Eve parody, but get it. The gig probably paid as much as she would’ve made for the final season of Mom.
-
Touchdown: Michelob ULTRA Club

-
Touchdown: Squarespace

-
Fumble: Hellmann's
Image Credit: Courtesy of Hellman's If you have to spell out the joke — he’s Jon Hamm, she’s Brie Larson… get it? — then it probably isn’t funny. And is Pete Davidson really everywhere? Or does it just seem like he’s everywhere because the Internet’s obsessed with his dating history?
-
Touchdown: Bud Light
Image Credit: Courtesy of Bud Light What, you thought you’d seen the last of Miles Teller‘s dance moves? The Top Gun: Maverick star is back at it again, as he and his wife Keleigh make the most of being put on hold.
-
Touchdown: Workday

-
Touchdown: Booking.com
Image Credit: Courtesy of Booking.com If this is a taste of what we can expect of Melissa McCarthy in the live-action Little Mermaid, then perhaps the role of Ursula is in good hands.
-
Touchdown: M&Ms
Image Credit: M&M's screenshot Maya Rudolph as the face of M&Ms? Sure, why not! Poking fun at the
Foxfaux outrage surrounding the spokescandies is a brilliant marketing move. -
Fumble: Pepsi
Image Credit: Pepsi screenshot Blink and you’ll miss Ben Stiller reprise Derek Zoolander in this otherwise lackluster beverage spot for the poor man’s Coke Zero. (The Steve Martin version of the ad isn’t much funnier.)
-
Touchdown: General Motors x Netflix
Image Credit: General Motors screenshot Will Ferrell inserts himself into Army of the Dead, Bridgerton, Love Is Blind, Squid Game and Stranger Things to promote the use of electric vehicles in Netflix originals.
-

-
Fumble: Tubi
