As nominations for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards continue to be processed, TVLine drills down to take a look at some of the quieter (and sometimes fun) trends.
The numbers we already know? HBO’s Watchmen led the TV pack with 26 total nominations, followed by Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (with 20), Netflix’s Ozark and HBO’s Succession (which amassed 18 apiece).
Going by outlet, Netflix reclaimed bragging rights this year with a Primetime Emmys record of 160 (!) total nominations to HBO’s 107. Rounding out the Top 5 were NBC (47), ABC (36) and FX (33). Among new streamers, Disney+ racked up 19 nominations to Apple TV+’s 18 and Quibi’s 10.
