One of Smallville’s worst-kept secrets is finally out in the open — and we’re not talking about how Clark Kent sometimes likes to wear his underwear on the outside of his pants.
Tuesday’s episode of Superman & Lois clued Lana into Kyle’s budding relationship with Chrissy, something she might have been more receptive to if she didn’t catch Kyle meeting Chrissy in secret when he was supposed to be watching their daughter. Not Sarah, the other one. Darn, she’s right — people do forget about her.
“When we first started talking about Chrissy and Kyle at the beginning of the season, my initial reaction was ‘Oh my God!’ and then it was, ‘But what about Lana?'” Sofia Hasmik tells TVLine. “It’s such a small town thing, where everybody knows everybody. Chrissy and Lana work together on stories all the time. She interviews her quite often. So I think Chrissy was always going to get caught with a capital ‘C,’ but it was definitely not a moment I was looking forward to.”
Moving forward, there’s going to be a bit of “testing the waters and figuring things out” between Chrissy and Lana, the latter of whom “isn’t mad,” according Kyle. (Yeah, like we trust that guy.) “I think anyone who hears that ‘everything is fine’ knows that everything is not fine and will probably require some smoothing over,” Hasmik admits.
Of course, Chrissy and Kyle’s relationship wasn’t the only source of drama this week. And most shockingly of all, the villainous Onomatopoeia was revealed to be none other than Lois’ chemo buddy Peia!

Kyle and Lana’s drama is a side story I really don’t need 🤷♀️
It’s mind numbing low stakes and dull. These actors seem like nice people and I wish them no ill will but the Kyle/Chrissy stuff is such a drag on the show. It’s not remotely earned. It’s getting too much screentime. And I just do not care.
When we first me Onomatopoeia, someone said this was a woman and I agreed.
At the end, when Onomatopoeia was talking to Bruno, I knew it was Peia and I was right. Something in the way she moved and spoke clued me in.
I thought it was John’s sister tbh
Same. I thought it was John’s sister, too.
A few people thought it was John’s sister and for a second, so did I. Changed my mind a while ago though.
That opening scene with Clark and the group therapy members was tough. I’ve lost people to cancer. That hit hard.
.
The scene where Lana finds out was very well done. Lana’s reaction was exactly how I think Lana would react in that scenario.
Both my parents have had cancer. My mom has remained in remission for hers, my dad sadly did not make it. Of all the the shows to showcase a cancer storyline, I never expected a superhero show to give one of the most realistic depictions of what it’s like for everyone. Definitely hard to not be reminded of things but I also appreciate how well done it is.

As for Lana, I was a bit bothered by how upset she was that Kyle had left their daughter when Sarah was there; she had just done the same thing when she met up for the interview. I get she might be flustered in the moment, but they do things like this with her characters too often.
I’m surprised that they actually remembered that Lana had another daughter in this episode… that poor kid.
Just throw Lana’s other daughter in child care or leave her in her room for a couple of episodes now
Oh my God who cares. No disrespect to the actors—they seem like nice people—but the amount of time Superman and Lois wastes on these side characters is truly atrocious and it feels worse than ever in season 3. I find myself fast forwarding through their scenes. Divorced man who had an affair moved on with a much younger woman—-groundbreaking! ::rolls eyes:: anytime the show focuses on Clark, Lois, the boys, Bruno, john Henry….it’s honestly a stellar show. But this relentless focus on Kyle, Chrissy, Lana, Sophie (last night) ….it’s just so bad. Chrissy should be playing straight man to Lois and Clark at the gazette. Lana and Kyle’s divorce drama is the boring nothing that never ends. I’ve never seen a show with such a split personality before in terms of quality. Everything with Tyler and Bitsie is so stellar and then so much of the rest is so dull.
Every once in awhile they remember her and throw her in a scene. I personally thought they’d already had an episode with her in it a couple of shows back, which usually covers the character’s appearance for the season.
I had a feeling something wasn’t quite right with her chemo buddy. And since when did Sarah have a younger sister?
Once or twice a season, when a writer remembers her.
She’s always been on the show
I JUST LOVE THE TWIST AND TURNS REALLY GREAT STORYTELLING SUPER BIG FAN OF THE SHOW . I USED TO WATCH IT WITH MY SON BUT HE PASSED AWAY 7 MONTHS AGO AND I REALLY MISS MY SUPERMAN AND LOUIS BUDDY .
I’m so sorry for your loss.
Such a great show. Tyler and Bitsie are knocking it out of the pack this season. Ridiculously good and their performances and how they work together elevates this show.
and while ago i thought that smallville was boring ….
OMG the new kimo buddy also shot super boy a.k.a. Jordan. This season is really hard stopping and full of surprises! thanks..
The Peia was a complete shock to me! I don’t read the comic books, so I had no frame of reference.
I actually enjoy the dynamics between Lana, his exhusband and Chrissy. It helps keeping the show grounded on the townsfolk that in the end are what Superman is protecting.
As long as they don’t overdo it, it will be ok.
