Kelley (Big Little Lies) will write with his former Crazy Ones collaborator Dean Lorey, and the pair will serve as EPs alongside Brad Garrett (who pitched the idea to Kelley) and Bill D’Elia (who will direct the premiere).

Series creator Ilana Peña (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) will pen the scripts.

Shot as a mockumentary, each episode will include one original song, as well as one new version of a song from the HSM franchise.

WHAT: Based on the ’90s movie franchise, the series is set in present day Minnesota. The Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan (Noon) isunceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom Alex (Graham) set out to build their own ragtag team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of competitive youth sports. Steve Brill, who wrote all three films, returns as co-creator and EP, with Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa (The King of Queens) serving as co-creators and showrunners.

The series follows Tylor Tuskmon (Feldman), an eager and talented young mechanic on the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team who dreams of working his way up to the factory Laugh Floor to become a Jokester alongside his idols Mike and Sulley.
