Halloween may be over, but let’s be real — vampires have become kind of a year-round thing on TV.

Be they silly, sexy or scary (or a fun mix of all three!), the undead have been compelling audiences for decades, so we’ve decided to take stock of the very best — from shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, Shadowhunters, What We Do in the Shadows and more.

Our list includes two pairs of vampire brothers, two icons who made their debuts in black and white, one actress whose undead turn earned her a Golden Globe Award, and one Muppet. (Though every Muppet is technically immortal, only one stalks the streets of Sesame ‘neath the light of the moon, hungry for victims to… uh… count?)

And here’s another fun fact: Only two of the shows mentioned in this list are still airing new episodes.
