The View‘s Studio Audience Erupts in Applause at Tucker Carlson’s Fox News Departure Announcement — Watch
The studio audience at Monday’s taping of The View took a little time to enjoy Tucker Carlson‘s Fox News ouster.
Near the end of the hour, moderator Whoopi Goldberg shared the breaking news that Carlson had parted ways with the conservative news network. And the crowd promptly broke out in applause.
Co-host Ana Navarro quickly joined the celebration, leading the audience in a chorus of “goodbye.” Watch the moment below.

Fox News characterized Carlson’s exit as a mutual decision, announcing in a statement early Monday, ““Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor. Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday, April 21.”
There was zero indication of Carlson’s exit as recently as Friday evening, when at the close of what would be his final episode he said to viewers a typical, “We’ll be back on Monday.” In fact, as of this morning there were still promos running for Carlson’s planned interview with Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Carlson’s exit comes in the wake of Fox News Channel reaching a settlement in a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems, just as their much-publicized trial was about to get underway. Dominion claimed it was owed damages resulting from Fox News’ airing of false claims about its role in the 2020 election. In the past few months, emails and texts gathered for the trial from Fox executives and anchors — Carlson and Sean Hannity included — hinted that people working at the company knowingly put forth false information about the election and Dominion’s involvement in it.

Adolph Hitler was extremely popular with his supporters, too, but his voice being silenced was hardly a sad day, and neither is Tuckems’.
Conservative voices can be heard on NPR. On FOX you only hear right wing propaganda with fascist and theocratic ideas. Shocking to the American right but those are not conservative values. Conservative values are hands off for everyone, not freedom for one set of people and control and oppression for another.

Neither of you see how ironic your comments are? Both Carlson and Lemon (neither I’m a fan of either) have little class or respect in their commentary or antics at their respective networks to begin with to earn respect so these reactions on The View are warranted, and these comments telling other people to respect those who deserve it and insulting them is highly hypocritical.
It’s the usual double standard for men and women. Men are fine as raging psychos but if a woman raises her voice, she’s hysterical.
I never watched Tucker Carlson’s show. News opinion programs aren’t for me no matter what side of the aisle they fall on or what bias they favor. I will say that I believed the View was supposed to be about showcasing different viewpoints from women all over the country. This display seems to indicate that the panel is completely one sided (at least in terms of Fox News and the issues surrounding it).
The show has strayed from Barbara’s original vision of women of different ages giving their opnions on life. Now, it’s get one View, liberal Democratic talking points.
Don’t give me this “one-sided” nonsense. Conservatives worth their salt would and should be celebrating Tucker going off the air, too, because he was making their party look awful. If conservatives aren’t joining the rest of us in celebrating his removal from TV, then that says far more about them and how far their party has fallen than it does any “liberal bias” narrative people want to try and claim.

And everyone telling these women to grow up – no. Tucker and his ilk actively spread dangerous lies and propaganda that nearly destroyed our democratic election process. Everyone, regardless of which side of the political aisle they fall on, should be celebrating people like Carlson actually having to face consequences and not being able to push his lies on the air anymore. He’s caused way too much trouble for people for way too long. He should’ve been off the air a long time ago.
It’s not nonsense. Again, I think cable news is one of the single biggest reasons tensions are high in this country and civility is out the window. If I had my way, Tucker Carlson, Don Lemon, Rachel Maddow, and Sean Hannity would all be out of jobs. They all stoke the divide and they do it knowingly.
That being said, half the country disagrees with you, and that half isn’t represented on The View. It’s kind of textbook ‘one-sided’ actually.
They disagree because of a media environment specifically cultivated to reinforce their disagreement. Tossing out those four names as if they’re the same is just lazy and reductive. I agree that all cable news is a bad influence. But some cable news is clearly worse and more erosive towards human decency.
That’s the point. What is ‘clearly worse’ to you is very likely the exact opposite of what half the country deems as ‘clearly worse’ to them. I agree. The media is clearly designed to reinforce the divide. It’s how they make their money. But in order to dismantle that, it has to be done from both sides. Otherwise, what you get is half the country believing that they are being targeted simply for diasgreeing with you. It’s essentially throwing the baby out with the bath water to assume that everyone who doesn’t believe what you do is brainwashed by a deceptive media corporation and, as such, doesn’t know what’s best for themselves and their lives. I’d call that lazy and reductive. How can we be expected to build toward human decency if we won’t even consider the idea that everyone’s voice matters?

I’m glad Tucker is off the air, he’s a proven liar who was manipulating his audience. But it’s a bit distasteful to publicly take glee in someones misfortune in this way – in fact it’s the kind of thing I’d expect from Tucker and his former colleagues.
Its funnier that Carlson never got a goodbye show. Should tell folk everything. His “entertainment” show got the cancellation treatment lol!

People like Tucker and Marjorie Taylor Green LIVE for getting people all worked up. We need people in media and government to work for unity in our country, not trying to tear us apart.

These cackling old hens will rot your brain. My office mate always has The View on, and I can only take about 30 seconds of it before I put in my earbuds to listen to music. One day I left them in my car in the parking garage, and seriously considered jamming my socks into my ears.
Says something about these so-called “talk show hosts” that they celebrate the firing of a media personality like it is a major political victory.
There is a lot of trash on TV these days and much of it comes in the form of cable news and atrocities like “The View.”
