As if aliens weren’t enough to handle, a brilliant and sadistic newcomer will also cause trouble for the Legends of Tomorrow in Season 6: The CW series has tapped Raffi Barsoumian (The Vampire Diaries) to recur as Bishop, a once-in-a-generation genius, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Bishop has “seen the end of the world, and he thinks he has a way to save it,” per the official character description. “But despite his purported love of humanity, Bishop isn’t great with people. He pretends to be a groovy bon vivant with a taste for cognac and a killer vinyl collection, but in fact, he’s a sadistic egomaniac who treats all living creatures — human and alien alike — as his scientific playthings.”
As a result, the Legends quickly come to realize that “Bishop’s drive to play god may very well hasten the world’s end. And it was no accident that Bishop lived to see the world’s end. He used his brilliant scientific mind to give himself, well, certain enhancements.” Hmm, he sure sounds like Big Bad material, doesn’t he?
As previously reported, the makeup of the Waverider will, come Season 6, once again look different: Lisseth Chavez (Chicago P.D.) has come onboard in the series-regular role of alien expert Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz. Additionally, Shayan Sobhian (aka Behrad) and Adam Tsekhman (Gary) have been promoted to regulars, while Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who most recently portrayed Charlie, will not be back. Plus, TVLine has confirmed that Olivia Swann (Astra) will return to the show full-time.
Barsoumian most recently starred in the short-lived CBS drama The Code as Warrant Officer Rami Ahmadi. He has also appeared on The Vampire Diaries (as Travelers leader Markos), Shameless and NCIS.
Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 is slated to debut next year on The CW. Until then, hit the comments with your theories on Bishop!
Would have preferred the addition of more DC hero characters been a few seasons since we had the likes of Hawkman aboard Waverider. Adam Strange would have been a good addition especially with aliens involved.
Well, we got Nate Heywood (Citizen Steel), and Zari and Behrad are supposed to be Isis and Osiris (the character names were changed Adrianna Tomaz => Zari Tomaz, but they are meant to be the characters from the comics).
he sounds freaking amazing, i actually was in the minority who liked his character on vampire diaries
he does sound a bit like lex luthor, that does turn me off a bit
but im interested in seeing the end of the world if that meant crisis or something else
what if this bishop character turns out to be Gabriel the angel in disguise, pretending to be somebody else to fool the legends and John Constantine until the truth is revealed?
i hope not, im all for bringing in more of constantines tv show characters but i dont want raffi to be an overall waste just for another actor
perhaps if the show gets a season 7 renewal, maybe they can get Paul Wesley or Michael Shanks to come on the show to play Gabriel and have one of them face off with Matt Ryan.
im not familar much with michael but paul, something tells me he could be done with the supernatural genre
they should just get richard speight to play gabriel again cause he plays him on supernatural
not that im unappreciative of this news but im hoping to get news soon of flash and supergirls new villians cause im sick of mirror master and lex
id like a new villian for black lightning too
I dunno, they might try to redeem him like Nora, Astra, etc and have the main baddie show up later in this season. I just hope him being Tala’s husband doesn’t mean the end of Zari/Constantine. The writers paired up Ray and Nora and now with COVID it would be less of an issue to have a real couple playing an onscreen one (like Walker casting Padalecki’s real wife to play his onscreen wife). Plus John Constantine never stays happy for long…
I think John Constantine doesn’t know how to stay happy for long. He tried to learn from his past mistakes but he seems to fail at that, sometimes. out of all of his past romantic partners, I think Desmond was the only one out of all of them that was marriage maternal that John Constantine found appealing for once in his life during pre-crisis(hell, the two might’ve been engaged to be married during post-crisis to add to their tragic love story) until the neron situation tore them apart and JC has hated himself for that since and perhaps he still does. JC is probably scared that he will end up repeat his past mistakes with Zari in season 6.
It would seem a bit out of character for John Constantine to stay happy for long. While I enjoy him and Zari together for now, I also can’t wait to see how Johnny boy is gonna much this up, or what terror from his gangrened past is going to start clawing its way through his new found oasis of friends.
The Legends are outmost silly, but I’ve been impressed by how much pain the writers have managed to save up for the disaster magician (Desmond, the lung cancer, Astra…), and I’m very curious to see what they have in store for him this time.
I seriously couldn’t place him on TVD and had to look him up on IMDB and STILL don’t remember him. Turns out he was only on 6 episodes, so I wouldn’t exactly call him “Alum” (he played such a minor roll).
They needed to do something after last season. It was for the most part,…. totally ridiculous.
what should they do?
i didnt like much of the first half but when it got to the fates stuff, i enjoyed it mostly
