No envelope confusion on this one: Jimmy Kimmel will return to host the 2018 Oscars, ABC announced Tuesday.

“Hosting the Oscars was a highlight of my career,” Kimmel said in a statement, thanking the awards ceremony’s production team.  “If you think we screwed up the ending this year, wait until you see what we have planned for the 90th anniversary show!”

The Jimmy Kimmel Live host, of course, refers to the 2017 Best Picture statuette, which was incorrectly awarded to La La Land during the live broadcast before everything was straightened out and Moonlight was rightfully named the winner.

“After just one year, we can’t imagine anyone else hosting The Oscars. Jimmy’s skillful command of the stage is invaluable on a night when anything can happen — and does,” said Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment via statement. “With [producers] Mike [De Luca] and Jennifer [Todd] at the helm, we’re ready for another unforgettable show that will dazzle, delight and, most importantly, honor 90 years of Hollywood’s most prestigious award.”

Kimmel’s first turn as Oscars host in February delivered 32.9 million total viewers, marking a nine-year low for the kudoscast. TVLine readers gave the late-night vet’s monologue that night an average garde of “B.”

The 90th Oscars will air live from Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre at 7/6c on Sunday, March 4, 2018.
