SpongeBob Squarepants Renewed

Soak up this good news: Nickelodeon has renewed SpongeBob SquarePants for Season 12, the network announced Tuesday.

Season 11 premieres this summer, while the 26-episode Season 12 will air during 2019, a year that will mark the show’s 20th anniversary.

* Comedy Central has expanded the first season of The President Show by seven episodes. The topical late night series, starring Anthony Atamanuik as President Donald Trump, airs Thursdays at 11:30/10:30c.

* Amazon has given a straight-to-series order to the drama Hanna, based on the 2011 assassin film starring Saoirse Ronan, our sister site Deadline reports. Written by David Farr, who penned the movie, the high-concept thriller/coming-of-age story follows an extraordinary young girl as she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is.

* UFC fighter-turned-actor Cathal Pendred (Into the Badlands) will star in Amazon’s horror anthology adaptation of the podcast Lore, from executive producer Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead), per Deadline. Pendred will play Michael Cleary, a character from Irish folklore who is convinced that his wife has been replaced by a changeling.
