The American Horror Story alum is set to star in 911, a new drama series created by Murphy and Brad Falchuk. A formal 13-episode, straight-to-series order is expected to be announced as part of Fox’s upfront presentation on Monday.
Per our sister site Deadline, 911 revolves around the lives of 911 operators, and is described as similar in vein to ER — a show on which Bassett was a series regular during its final season. She has since gone on to appear in four of six AHS seasons (Coven, Freak Show, Hotel and Roanoke).
911 joins a long list of Murphy series currently on TV or in development, including FX’s American Crime Story, FEUD and Pose, as well as Fox’s stillllll-on-the-bubble Scream Queens.
911 is expected to launch in midseason, indicating an early 2018 premiere.
