TV Look-Alikes: Vampire Diaries, Alias, Friends, Star Trek, Brady Bunch, Gilligan and 22 Other Times We Saw Double

They say that everyone has a twin somewhere out there — and, of course, that includes TV characters. So, in honor of Look-Alike Day, your friends at TVLine have compiled a photo gallery of some of our fictional favorites whose doppelgängers left us seeing doubles.

Biological twins and uncanny cousins did not make the cut — so put down your Patty Dukes. What is included in our eye-popping round-up are identical or close-to-it duos from series past (Brady Bunch, Buffy, Bonanza) and present (The Flash, S.H.I.E.L.D.The Walking Dead) — and, in a couple of cases, not just perfect pairings but a whole group of look-alikes. Has your interest been twin-piqued yet?

Flip through the attached gallery (click here for direct access) and then hit the comments to denote your all-time favorite TV doppelgängers.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. Kevin Tran says:

Lindsay Wagner, Lynda Carter and Nina Dobrev were my faves.

  2. Cate says:

    Lots of others:
Tom and Will Riker on Star Trek TNG
    Supergirl and her own Bizarro
Xander had his own double on Buffy (played by Nick Brendon’s twin brother) to say nothing of the Buffybot!

    • jj says:

Tom and Will Riker, great addition!

      • tvdiva says:

And that was actually his real twin playing the other Xander!

        • Elf says:

My favorite part of that episode is watching and realizing they shot it as if they were using greenscreen and the other tricks they normally use when one actor plays both roles. Like they’re on opposite sides of the screen and never touch, and shots from over the shoulder when it’s normally the stunt double’s shoulder.

  3. jj says:

I would have included on your list the multiple Xena doppelgangers played by Lucy Lawless on the show.

  4. John Locke vs smoke monster John Locke.
    Regina vs Evil Queen.
    Mork meets Robin Williams.
    The Osgoods from Doctor Who.
Sarah michelle gellar on CW’s Ringer.

  5. Jooshua says:

I want to throw some love at the Chuck knows how many different versions of Castiel that Misha Collins played.

  6. Coop says:

One of my favorite episodes of Get Smart, “Too Many Chiefs”: The Chief vs. Alexi Sebastian.

  7. My two all time favorite doppleganger episodes are BUFFY the first time we meet evil Willow and the triple take of Xena. NEVER EVER BORED. Going to watch them both NOW.

  8. Dominique says:

the may vs. agent 33 story also gae us one of the best fights AoS will ever have. that was awesome.
nina dobrev did a really good job as the doubles. she’s not the strongest actor on the cast, but with the doubles, she always shone. you could tell exactly who she was playing, even if it was one of the characters pretending to be the other.

  9. you forgot the woefully Dynasty storyline with the Krystle look-a-like debacle

  10. Raul Jimenez says:

How could you forget “Guiding Light’s” Clone Reva? Probably the most bizarro storyline in soap opera history.

  11. The Android Clones In Stargate SG1.
    Doppelgangers in Sliders,
Shapechanged Mulder in x-files who nearly got it on with Scully

  12. Elf says:

How could we forget Flexo, Bender’s double, complete with pointy magnetic beard?

  13. HtotheB says:

What about Julianne Moore’s cousin/half-sisters Franny & Sabrina Hughes on As the World Turns?

  14. TayMads says:

Smallville also did an alternate reality episode where Clark is raised by Lionel instead of the Kents and he is Clark Luthor….since we are also including alternate realities. It doesn’t have to be a whole slide but it could also be mentioned in what you included.

  15. Adam and Stuart Chandler

  16. Brandon says:

You forgot It’s Always Sunny in Phili Dennis and his pedophile looklike one of my favourites

  17. Lisa says:

You forgot The Replacement episode of Buffy when Xander was split in two and his “better” half was played by his actual identical twin brother.

  18. Flashrow says:

Well actually Nina has played 4 different characters Elena, Katherine, Amara and Tatia. So no Sabrina and her evil twin Katrina from Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, also the three Prues in Charmed, and Alex Russo evil version from the Wizard of Waverly Place: Alex vs Alex. Oh don’t forget Vicki and Vanessa from the Small Wonder.
