Saturday Night Live: The 10 Best Sketches of Season 42 (So Far)

Saturday Night Live‘s current season got off to a great start, and it was only partially thanks to Donald Trump.

Though the president-elect provided the Not Ready for Primetime Players with an extraordinary amount of material, the show excelled — at times, even more so — with some of its apolitical humor.

With the late-night program on hiatus through Jan. 14, we here at TVLine decided now would be a good time to look back at SNL‘s fall run and handpick the ten best sketches. Among them, you’ll find a beloved Tom Hanks personality, the revival of fan-favorite characters from Breaking Bad and Chappelle’s Show, and yes, at least one appearance by both Alec Baldwin’s Trump and Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton.

(FWIW, the gallery sticks exclusively to sketch segments, meaning standout moments like Lin-Manuel Miranda’s monologue and McKinnon’s Leonard Cohen tribute were not eligible for consideration.)

Peruse the gallery to your right — or click here for direct access — then tell us in the comments if you agree or disagree with our ranking. And let us know which sketches would have made your own hypothetical Top 10.
