Kevin James is getting a visit from his big-screen buddy.
Adam Sandler will guest-star on James’ new CBS sitcom Kevin Can Wait, our sister site Variety is reporting. Sandler’s appearance will air next Monday, Nov. 7; he’ll play a cop, and the former patrol partner of James’ character Kevin, who’s a newly retired cop now working as a security guard.
In the episode, entitled “Who’s Better Than Us,” Kevin is jealous when he sees his old pal with a new rookie partner, played by former UFC champ Chris Weidman. In a promo, Kevin complains to his wife, “He’s the most important relationship in my life,” before noticing her reaction and adding, “Except for you… I knew it as I was saying it.”
Sandler and James have co-starred together in a number of movies, including 2007’s I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, 2010’s Grown-Ups (with David Spade and Chris Rock) and last year’s Pixels. Sandler also guest-starred on James’ earlier CBS sitcom The King of Queens in 2007.
