Survivor‘s Remorse just dipped its hands in some chalk and clapped ’em, hard: Starz has renewed the LeBron James-produced basketball comedy for a fourth season.
The series, which stars Jessie T. Usher and RonReaco Lee, had a highly successful Season 3 premiere, nabbing 883,000 Live+SD viewers — up 164 percent from the Season 2 opener, which aired on a Saturday — and eventually garnered an audience of 1.25 million after two encores that evening. To date, Season 3 is averaging 860,000 viewers with a 0.4 demo rating, more than double its sophomore run.
Survivor’s Remorse now has a Sunday home as part of Starz’s recent move to (eventually) air its original programming on the same night as HBO’s Ballers and Showtime’s Ray Donovan — and, eventually, with heavy hitters like HBO’s Game of Thrones and AMC’s The Walking Dead.
“We see opportunity,” Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said when the scheduling change was announced in may. “Saturdays have worked so well that we feel our shows are going to be able to stand up on the most watched night of the week.”
