American Horror Story Season 6: 'Mist' Teaser Adds to Mystery of New Setting

American Horror Story: Spider-Man?

FX on Friday released another teaser for AHS‘ upcoming sixth installment, which features a Spidey-looking creature approaching the camera at a ferocious speed. Equally curious: the video is titled “The Mist.”

So what does this tell us? FX Networks CEO Jonathan Landgraf recently revealed to reporters that, of the first six teasers released in July, “one of them is accurate and the others are all misdirects.” Of those original six, the one that most resembles this new “Mist” teaser is the “Sunset Stroll” teaser seen below:

And that certainly gels with what executive producer Ryan Murphy has said about Season 6: “If you look at horror tropes, the innocence of children, that sort of wide-eyed entryway into some world, is always very dramatic and satisfying.”

Season 6’s theme has yet to be officially confirmed, though TMZ recently posted on-set photos that suggest it will focus on Roanoke, the North Carolina colony where 117 people mysteriously vanished in 1590.
