Hulu has released teaser trailers for its two upcoming original dramas, starring TV favorites Hugh Laurie (House), Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice) and KaDee Strickland (Private Practice).
Based on the novel by Kem Nunn, Chance (premiering Wednesday, Oct. 19) is a provocative, psychological thriller that focuses on Dr. Eldon Chance (Laurie), a San Francisco-based forensic neuropsychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness. The series also stars Gretchen Mol (Boardwalk Empire), LisaGay Hamilton (The Practice), Paul Adelstein (Private Practice), Ethan Suplee (My Name Is Earl) and Stefania LaVie Owen (The Carrie Diaries).
Shut Eye (premiering Wednesday, Dec. 7) follows Charlie Haverford (Donovan), a scammer with a small chain of fortune-telling storefronts. When a blow to the head from a client’s angry boyfriend intersects with a hypnosis session, suddenly a man whose entire life has been based on fraud begins to see and feel some very real, fundamental truths. The series also stars KaDee Strickland (Private Practice), Isabella Rossellini (Alias), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage), Susan Misner (The Americans), Angus Sampson (Fargo) and David Zayas (Dexter).
