Next stop: Pussy Valley!
(Yeah, Starz’s upcoming drama, announced Monday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, is about exactly what you think it is.)
The one-hour scripted series, currently in development, “takes an unflinching and unapologetic look at the lives of pole dancers working down in the Dirty Delta.” Creator/writer Katori Hall will executive-produce, along with Peter Chernin (New Girl), Jenno Topping and Dante Li Loreto (American Horror Story).
Starz is also developing The Dirty Girls Social Club, a half-hour series about six working women — friends from college, still together after 10 years — in New York City. Per Monday’s announcement, “the series will explore womanhood in all its glory, with both humor and drama, and always with heart.”
Based on Alisa Valdes’ best-selling novel, Dirty Girls will be executive-produced by Anne Thomopoulos (Rome), Lucia Cuttone and showrunner Ligiah Villalobos (Go, Diego! Go!).
