Smoke billowing from a secluded farmhouse. A demonic baby laying under a razor-sharp mobile. Gnarled hands grasping at someone’s ankles on a staircase. Yep, American Horror Story is doing it to us again.
The FX horror anthology on Wednesday* released a series of teasers (via Snapchat), offering up new hints about the sixth installment’s theme, which is still very much under wraps. In fact, all we really know for sure is that Season 6 will be “set in two time periods,” per FX boss Jonathan Landgraf.

As for casting, we know that several AHS alumni will return this fall, including Cheyenne Jackson, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters and Matt Bomer, though all of their characters remain hush-hush.
American Horror Story‘s sixth season premieres Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10/9c.
