Lady Gaga, Connie Britton and 47 Other Stars Honor Orlando Shooting Victims in Ryan Murphy-Produced Tribute Video

Ryan Murphy has rounded up 49 names you do know to honor 49 names you should know.

Murphy — the mastermind behind such phenomena as Glee, American Horror Story and Scream Queens — teamed up with the Human Rights Campaign to produce a video paying tribute to the 49 lives lost during the June 12 shooting at Pulse, an LGBT nightclub in Orlando, Fla.

Many of the celebrities featured in the 18-minute tribute hail from Murphy’s stable: American Horror Story stars, including Connie Britton, Lady Gaga and Wes Bentley; American Crime Story stars, including Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Sarah Paulson; Scream Queens stars, including Emma Roberts, Diego Boneta and Jamie Lee Curtis; and Glee grads, including Lea Michele, Darren Criss and Harry Shum, Jr.

The video also promotes the HRC’s new Stop the Hate campaign, which aims to “put a stop to hate violence” and “show the world that love conquers hate.”

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

And now I’m crying all over again.

Watched the whole video and crying condolences to those who lost a loved one in this senseless way

  4. I thought that I was finally done crying, but now I’m sobbing all over again.

  5. bluji says:

This video brought me to tears. What breaks my heart even more than the unfair fates of these people is that all the efforts that attempt to make things better are constantly being brought down by those in positions of power.

  6. cogrady53 says:

Well done to Ryan Murphy and the actors with this really touching and heart breaking tribute. The victims are brought to life instead of just being one of 49. These beautiful vibrant people were murdered by hatred.

  7. LJ Bissonnette says:

Sorry, refuse to watch it or anything else that misleads the people. It wasn’t “hatred” that murdered these innocent victims it was a person who pledged his allegiance to allah and isis. You could hear that clear as a bell on his 911 call that had been plastered and re plastered all over the world a few times over– before the msm released the obama/lynch approved version, where any and all references to islam, isis and allah had been redacted from the 911 tape! AND they even went so far as to replace ‘allah’ with ‘God’!! Tried to make it sound like a Christian killed all those innocents rather than an isis radical! That is misleading and a blatant lie. But there will be thousands who never heard the original 911 tape before lynch confiscated it to put the blame elsewhere. I’m NOT comfortable with anyone fudging with the truth! Those murdered people and their loved ones deserve that much. They deserve to be honored with truth, justice and dignity. Leaving out the most crucial reason for their slaughter dishonors them and robs their families of justice. It was kinda like when hillary told the grieving parents of the Benghazi 4 their sons died because of a video. Nearly 4 years have passed and those families wounds are still just as raw as the day they learned of their children’s deaths. Is that what you want for the families of the 49 victims? To condemn them to limbo also. Not being able to move forward because of a bold faced CYA LIE? Lies only minimize their sacrifice.

During the George W. Bush Presidency, 13 Embassies were attacked and over 60 Americans lost their lives. Where was your outrage then?
This is not the forum for these discussions. No matter your political beliefs these people deserve your respect and prayers. They were innocent human beings.

      • quang says:

Jay, I wouldn’t bother. Someone is simply salty that the latest round of Benghazi panel proved no wrongdoing on Hillary’s part (again), and is using a massacre of gays to spout the usual talking points about Christian persecution and Killery Clinton.

    • Eran says:

Wow. You’ve somehow managed to make a 49-person massacre all about yourself and your politics. That takes genuine talent. Not to mention ego-maniacal narcissism by the truckloads. Well done!

    • Mary says:

Your lack of humanity is telling. The tape was about the 49 victims lives not politics. It put a story to their names and faces. Some people need to think before pushing the keys on a computer.

      • LJ Bissonnette says:

And your willingness to allow a lie to be perpetrated, honored and revered is a huge tell about you. It tells me you really DON’t honor the dead. Sounded more like you were in it for the entertainment value. Shame on you. Anderson Cooper already did a very poignant tribute naming each of the dead. And HE didn’t lie about why they died! I don’t usually care for Cooper, but I have great respect for his courage to be totally honest on this.

  8. Em says:

This is beautiful. All those individuals had stories far from being finished. It breaks my heart.

  9. abz says:

Such a beautiful tribute. Brought tears to my eyes.
