ABC Sets Fall Premiere Dates for Grey's, Once, Kiefer's POTUS Drama and More

First in the alphabet but last to show its hand, ABC has unveiled its premiere plan for the 2016-17 TV season (following CBS, NBC, Fox and The CW), and it will put its best foot forward on Monday, Sept. 12 with the Season 23 premiere of Dancing With the Stars.

Also of note: 24 star Kiefer Sutherland’s Designated Survivor, which per a TVLine poll is the fall’s most anticipated new drama, gets sworn into office on Wednesday, Sept. 21 (filling Nashville‘s former spot).

As previously announced, Scandal Season 6 is being held for midseason; taking its place on the #TGIT Thursday’s lineup is the (very) similarly scandalous Notorious, starring Covert Affairs‘ Piper Perabo and Graceland‘s Daniel Sunjata (read our First Impression).

Apparently, Sept. 12 is so important, it spans 3 days

  2. Frannie says:

Remember when Grey’s Anatomy used to be good?

  3. Kevin K says:

Can’t wait until September 21st for the premiere of Designated Survivor and Conviction debuts October 3rd the same date Timeless (NBC) arrives.

  4. laurellondon says:

what’s the thinking behind putting an obvious kid show, agents of shield, at 10pm on a school night. is it that most watch it on streaming/dvr.

  5. Denise F says:

I’ll be honest, none of this interests me. I watched “Castle” and “Dancing with the Stars” when there were actually stars on the show. Unless DWTS comes up with some real stars, I’ll watch “Good Morning America” and “World News Tonight” and that will be it.

  6. Gail says:

Looks like the only things I will be watching on ABC are OUAT and Modern Family and both are now past their prime. I will check out Time After Time whenever they get around to showing it ( March ?) Thank goodness for sports and streaming.

  7. herman1959 says:

Designated Survivor lead in by blackish works for me; I won’t have to change the channel.

  8. Joey Padron says:

Excited for Agents of Shield’s new season. Looking forward to check out Kiefer’s show and Hayley’s as well.
