Another key player is joining The Royals‘ own game of thrones in Season 3.
Jules Knight (BBC One’s Holby City) will recur on the E! drama — produced by Lionsgate and Universal Cable Productions — as Spencer Hoenigsberg, the new Lord Chamberlain to the Queen of England, TVLine has learned exclusively.
This marks the Stateside television debut for Knight, who coincidentally attended the University of St. Andrews with real-life royals Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Described as “smart, charismatic and cunning, [Spencer] is a professional willing to go the extra mile to make sure his job is a job well done. He has excellent taste and a knack for the details. Despite a bit of a rough start, his future in the palace is certain to be a bright one.”
As TVLine previously reported, The Royals‘ third season will introduce Max Brown (The Tudors) as the not-so-dead Prince Robert, while Genevieve Gaunt has been promoted to series regular as Liam’s new squeeze Willow. When we last left E!’s royal family, Ted was revealed to have been responsible for King Simon’s death, Helena teamed up with Prudence to (finally) beat Cyrus at his own game, and Eleanor and Jasper rekindled their… well, whatever it is they’ve got going on.
