Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's Rachel Bloom Is Living Her Dream in Lip Sync Battle Clip

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom is finally taking the Lip Sync Battle stage this Thursday (Spike TV, 10/9c), and in typical Bloom fashion, this performance has layers.

On the surface, sure, she’s just mouthing along to Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” with a fake marching band while (presumably) thinking about that dream boat Josh Chan.

But what if this isn’t just any ol’ band with whom Bloom is marching? What if this is the middle school band that was axed (“Sorry, kids. Budget cuts.”) in the first episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend?

To be honest, we’re accepting this as fact, even if it’s merely a coincidence. We’d like to believe that in an alternate universe, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend — buoyed by Bloom’s Golden Globes win — has been so inspirational that it’s restored various failing arts programs across the country. (Just let us have that, OK?)

Hit PLAY on the video above, then drop a comment below: Are you already rooting for Bloom, or are you waiting to see what Michael Shannon has prepared?

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. I wouldn’t mind being buoyed by Bloom’s Golden Globes
