Former Wisteria Lane resident Eva Longoria is relocating to 1920s Wales.
The onetime Desperate Housewife is in negotiations to star alongside British comedian Jack Whitehall (Bad Education) in a small-screen adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s Decline and Fall, our sister site Deadline reports.
The three-part miniseries is described as a social satire that follows Paul Pennyfeather (Whitehall), a hard-partying man sent by Oxford to serve as headmaster at a boys’ private school in Wales. There, he meets a wealthy South American woman, Margot Beste-Chetwynde (Longoria), with whom he is instantly smitten.
The comedy, which is set to air in the UK on BBC Two, has not yet been acquired by a U.S. network or streaming service. Production begins in mid-July.
Longoria’s recent TV credits include NBC’s one-and-done Telenovela and a cameo in the Season 4 premiere of Lifetime’s Devious Maids.
