Quantico Enlists Russell Tovey as Sexy, Devious New Series Regular in Season 2

Quantico is Looking for some fresh blood in Season 2.

British actor Russell Tovey, best known Stateside for starring opposite Jonathan Groff on HBO’s Looking, is joining the ABC thriller as a series regular, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Tovey will play Harry Doyle, described as a cross between Thomas Crown and a grown-up Arftul Dodger; per the report, he’s “just as likely to seduce your husband as he is to pick his pocket when it’s over.”

And here’s another fun fact: The role was specifically written for Tovey. Showrunner Josh Safran says he’s wanted to work with the actor ever since seeing him in 2006’s The History Boys.

Tovey will next be seen in Looking‘s wrap-up movie, airing July 23 on HBO.

Can he act? Oh yeah, on Quantico that doesn’t matter as long as he has good cheek bones and nice hair. Maybe he can help write the show because it can’t get any worse!

  3. Marco says:

Let’s just hope he lasts longer than the previous two LGBTQ characters Quantico had. He should, since he’s a series regular, but you never know…

  4. This doesn’t bode well for a 4th series of The Job Lot. The show isn’t great, but it’s a fun little workplace comedy.

  5. Hurley says:

Now I’ll have to check this show, though I’ve been hearing terrible things about it.

  6. Ian says:

So now this is their stunt to try and corral the gay audience back after that stupid and ridiculously offensive first season. This show is cheap garbage and I’m still not watching.

  7. Alex says:

gosh, the guy must be really desperate for money to participate in this trash.

  8. C.C. says:

Yay! No more dead gays (Elias) or fake gays (Simon)!

  9. Amy says:

ABC keeps this trash and cancels Nashville. ugh. pass.

    This garbage fire again…
