“Game Show History” for $500, Alex.
This Jeopardy wunderkind will attempt to make lightning strike twice as a contestant on ABC’s 500 Questions.
Who is… Ken Jennings?
Correct! Congratulations! Well done! Now, keep reading for the full story behind that painfully cheesy lede.
TVLine has confirmed that Jennings — whose 74-game winning streak remains a Jeopardy record — will appear as a contestant in 500 Questions‘ two-hour Season 2 premiere on Thursday, May 26. (Season 2 will air as a five-night event, beginning May 26 and concluding Wednesday, June 1.)
Nightline‘s Dan Harris will serve as the show’s new host, replacing CNN’s Richard Quest.
Quick 500 Q refresher: The show tasks contestants with answering 500 general knowledge questions. The catch? If said player answers three questions incorrectly in a row he/she is eliminated. New to Season 2: a bonus two-minute lightning round.
During his 74-episode Jeopardy rout in 2004, Jennings pocketed a then-record $2,520,700.
