Downton Abbey Vet Joins The Catch In 'Substantial' Recurring Role

Downton Abbey‘s lead chef is cooking up some intrigue for Shonda Rhimes.

Lesley Nicol, whose six-season stint as Downton‘s beloved Mrs Patmore ended in January with the show’s series finale, is joining ABC’s rookie drama The Catch, TVLine has learned.

The network confirmed Nicol’s casting, but declined to provide details on her character, except to say that the British actress would have a “substantial recurring role.” (We’d be remiss if we didn’t point out Nicol’s resemblance to leading lady Mireille Enos — perhaps she’s playing a relative?)

Nicol’s acting credits stateside include guest stints on Once Upon a Time, Supernatural, Shameless and Raising Hope.
