Kesha is going country.
Kesha is in the midst of a very public legal battle with Dr. Luke, seeking to record music outside her contract with the producer on the grounds that he allegedly drugged and raped her. Dr. Luke has repeatedly denied the charges and is countersuing the pop star for defamation.
Kesha has not released an album since 2012, but guest-starred on Jane the Virgin last fall and co-starred in the big-screen adaptation of Jem and the Holograms (alongside Nashville‘s Aubrey Peeples).
Meanwhile, country artists Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett have separately booked guest spots on the ABC drama, also playing themselves, and will each perform recent hits during their appearances, THR notes.
