Ratings: I Am Cait Returns to Series Low, Downton Abbey Ends on High Note

I Am Cait Ratings

The Americans failed to make the podium, while the British team brought home the gold in Sunday night’s ratings Olympics.

The Season 2 premiere of I Am Cait pulled in only 745,000 viewers — down almost two-thirds from the 2.7 million it drew for its series premiere last July, and also off significantly from the 1.3 million its Season 1 finale nabbed.

The E! docuseries, which follows Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner) living her life as a transgender woman, drew controversy over its star’s recent endorsement of evangelical Christian Republican Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign.

On the flip side of the ratings scene, Downton Abbey‘s series finale averaged 9.6 million viewers — up 14 percent from its Season 5 ender — marking the PBS drama’s most-watched finale ever. Two wins for Lady Edith in one week? Go on with your bad self!
