Vanessa Williams is getting dragged back to hell — but it’s got nothing to do with her last series regular role on ABC’s short-lived 666 Park Avenue.
The legendary Ugly Betty actress will star in VH1’s upcoming Satan’s Sisters, a scripted series based on The View‘s erstwhile panelist Star Jones’ 2011 roman à clef of the same name. Our sister site Deadline broke the news.
The hour-long drama follows the five female hosts of The Lunch Hour, “a long-running, popular ladies’ talk show in which alliances are forged, careers are made, and bridges are burned,” according to the network’s official release.
Deadline reports that Williams will play Lunch Hour creator/host Maxine, “a formidable, powerful and decisive woman who fears she’s being put out to pasture.”
VH1 is eyeing a 2017 premiere for Satan’s Sisters.
Williams recently recurred on CBS’ The Good Wife and USA’s Royal Pains, in addition to a starring role in the Lifetime movie The Trip to Bountiful.
