The 47th NAACP Image Awards were handed out on Friday, and ABC’s black-ish led the TV pack with five total wins, including for best comedy series and lead actors Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross.
Fox’s Empire followed with three wins, while NBC’s The Wiz Live grabbed two prizes. ABC’s Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder went into the ceremony with four nods each, but only the former’s Joe Morton walked away a winner.
The annual gala celebrates the achievements and performances of people of color in the arts, as well as those who promote social justice through creative endeavors.
